Needs a thicker inside
I would give it a five if it had a thicker inside boot. It's thin and tears easy. The outside is rugged and stands up well. Easy access for my rifle. I just don't like how it bangs around.

Great engineering solution and quality
I love the newly designed Boot 6.0, I would have given it 5-stars if it wasn't for the fact that they did go cheap on the internal liner. My old boot that I purchased 15-years ago had a zip-up liner that I can remove along with my rifle at the end of the hunt and carry them safely in my truck. This new boot liner is designed to stay in the boot and you have to transport your gun to another case.

The case is sturdy.
The liner is very thin. It doesn’t look like it’s going to keep the gun from moving around inside the case. I have had the No. 3 and the No. 4 and they both had a thick fleece lining inside. This one doesn’t have that. Not very happy about that part.

Great product for going mobile
I picked up a pair of these for my Can Am (side-by-side).The quality and construction are very good. We were hunting in adverse conditions with snow, wind, rain and mud. They held up great, kept our guns secure while we were in transit. I picked these up a few days before hunting season so didn't really mount them on the Can Am. I inserted them through the roll cage on the sides with the boot extending thru the back and used a couple bungie cords to secure them in place which worked fine. I will look at a more fixed mount for next time.

... sleeve has to move inside the boot but I love this design
I was skeptical at first with the amount of room the sleeve has to move inside the boot but I love this design. I especially love that the butt of the boot just lifts up instead of having to be completely removed like the traditional style. As far as durability goes I was impressed with it from the moment it arrived. When UPS delivered it the box was obviously involved in some kind of accident (was also notified of delayed shipping) or attack of a large bear as it was obliterated and when the boot was removed from the box it showed no signs of stress have been using ever since and definitely recommend it, will be buying another when it's on sale again.

Protection and access
Took this out for some rigorous testing this Fall. Mounted on rear rack of quad with the hatch opening pointing fore-ward. Kept the wet and mud and branches from damaging the rifle, but there was some "slapping" side to side of the rifle inside the case on really rugged going. When the conditions were right I put the rifle in front in my Rhino Grips where in rugged going it was held firm. But for traveling in rain, wet, mud, thick brush etc. this case does the job and is still so easy to get at your rifle by just lifting the hatch. Spend the extra and get the better mounting bracket for your quad - I did and am happy for it. I used the standard "loop" bracket for my boat and it works fine there - but I think it would allow even more play if you used it on a quad.

Excellent all purpose case
I'm an avid hunter and I'm constantly outside in all sorts of conditions. One example...I attached the same model boot to a friends four wheeler up in thunderbay. It rained 5-7 days and we were riding through 4ft of water in some cases. We made it back to our spot every time with no issues. I've used the same style boot the last 3 yrs and I've shot my moose shortly after entering the hunting area every time. We were constantly moving the guns and cases in and out of our tent, trailers, trucks, and ATVs. I own a 270 and 22, my friend was using his 308 and 20 gauge and this boot was perfect. You can bring it anywhere throw it around without worrying about knocking your scope. The hinge works great when your trying to make a quick quiet entry into an area. The velcro insert is basically the loudest part and if your careful your friend 4ft away wouldn't hear you. I highly suggest getting a pin for both front and back. This was an excellent buy.

Great gun protection accessory
Best purchase I've made to make traveling on my ATV with a gun a pleasure. Hinged lid was a great improvement over the detached, pull off lid. I ran some pretty rough trails and banged the case pretty hard at times. The inner liner was adequate and protects the gun from the hard plastic of the case. At the end of the week I checked the zero on my gun and it was still dead on. Adjustability of the angle of the case was very useful. I can also slide a fishing rod in with the gun if I wanted to stop at a lake or out side of the hunting season carry several robs.I highly recommend this case.

Five Stars
Ideal, a bit tight with the bipod fitted. Other than that it's ideal.

Best of the kolpin gun boots
The Kolpin 6.0 is the best of the kolpin lineup for side x side as I built a side bracket to carry the 6.0 boot and my 300 win mag. Its easy to access and with the rear lifting and staying up ,it makes for a quiet draw ,not to scare your prey. The $99.00 price that Amazon charges along with free shipping is a good deal not to mention how fast it arrived via UPS.Very Pleased.
