Was hesitant to order as too many items on Amazon are not as described, i.e. they're cheap junk.This is not one of those. The blade is thick SS, the edges are sharp, and the handle is real wood securely riveted. Only complaint is the sheath is a bit thin, but that in no detracts from the tool.You get what you pay for. In this case it should be the last one I ever need to purchase. It looks like it will last that long!

I like to put this on my belt as I mow the grass and see an opportunity to dig out a few weeds. Much prefer this over any weeding tool. Very strong and a nice wood handle.

Do not recommend that style, as larger pieces of mulch would tend to get stuck in the v, and would stop the blade from getting any depth into the soil.

It’s only March in Colorado, so haven’t actually been able to use this new tool. I bought one for my husband and one for me. He absolutely loves his! Can’t wait to get out in the garden and try it out! I’m excited too. It looks well made, sturdy and we can both think of many applications for it! Great fun!

I had broken my Lesche style digging tool and decided to try a garden knife style tool for metal detecting. Very impressed with the quality and durability for the price. I've used it on around 12 outings and put it through considerable abuse digging through gravel, prying up stones, and cutting roots. I honestly expected the tip would have broken by now considering how I've treated it. It cuts a very clean plug and the concave shape allows for sufficient shoveling when your target doesn't end up in the plug. It really seams to make restoring the turf a lot easier. Another advantage is it can cut small diameter deep plugs when you get a good pin point. After all the abuse, the serrated edge was still plenty sharp enough to cut a rock climbing rope with a bit of sawing (obviously not the right tool for this under normal circumstances).

This Hori Hori gardening knife is the best one I've had by far. Great for digging, planting annuals, perennials, and fall bulbs. Sturdy walnut handle with a high quality stainless steel blade. Feels great in the hand and so easy to use. Comes with a nylon seat that has a loop on the back for a belt to go through. It also has a grommet if you'd rather hang it by your potting bench.

It's just the right size and worked really well for weeding and thinning, dividing perennials. Other reviews have been helpful... I'm careful not to overuse it and risk breaking, and I'm careful where I lay it down so I don't lose it. It was a good value, and has earned a place in my tool bag. I'm not sure how long the sheath will last as it is a very tight fit and the knife edges are curved and sharp. But I recommend you try it.

I've had this tool for about two years and have found it to be invaluable for specific digging like rooting out dandelions, etc. It's also great for tapping the dirt out of root balls when weeding. I just bought a second as a gift for a friend. HIGHLY recommended.
