The Arabian Nights: A Play

this play is a fascinating way to do a play. This book however has no guidance on the music. We are left to come up with our own.

The Arabian Nights by Mary Zimmer was one of those life's moments, that truly amazed me and opened my perception of live performance. Performed by the Manhatten Theatre Company in Mud-Town New York, the evening was a tapestry of sight and a delicacy of sound, for the author'a words were scintillating. This should be a modern classic, a precursor to her wonderous Metamorphoses, which I also had the opportunity to see in New York.

Interesting adaptation of the tales of the Arabian Nights. Good choices were made out of the many stories that possibilities. It's clear that Mary Zimmerman is a master at adapting narrative to play form.

Mary Zimmerman is an amazing playwright. I enjoyed this play immensely; however I dont think it is a play that would be suitable for my students or community. Despite that I highly recommend this play - it is an excellent read and would be fun to direct.

Bought this to see if I wanted to go to the play - decided not to go.

This is just not her best play. Metamorphosis is so much better.

The best play that I have ever read. It wonderfully encompasses all the stories of the the 1001 nights.
