Hasty release with problems.
Many typos. For example, Q's special power should say "at the end of the draw phase" not "the start of the draw phase."Not enough dividers. Not enough sparks. This isn't the seller's fault, but Kevin Riley and the rest of the designers'.

Mage’s Rise Again!
This is a great addition to the Aeon’s End lore! This is a standalone core/expansion so you can just start here. However, you will understand the story and appreciate it much more if you start with Legacy followed by The New Age then Outcasts. If you don’t really care about the story than you can just start here. One of the really neat things about Aeon’s End is that you can mix and match any of the previous versions (although a portion of Legacy doesn’t mix) and you can create a lot of variety in your game. It is fun solo, with two and four players. Easy to learn and doesn’t take too long to play through. Must own if you’re a fan!

Finally the campaign story uses a booklet instead of a stack of cards
I love Aeon's End and at first it was a nice gimmick that the campaign stories for waves 3 and 4 are written on small cards, but in the end I prefer having a normal booklet. No more danger of messing up the card order, and you also get a couple of beautiful illustrations instead of the usual text-only stories.Outcasts introduces new mechanics. There is a curse deck, from which some basic nemesis cards will make you add cards to your deck until you pay them off. It's similar, but not quite as bad, to what Blight Lord or Crooked Mask do, but now you get to enjoy those extra cards for every nemesis.Another new and interesting mechanic would be a spoiler, so I'll just say that you'll see it starting from battle 2.The ways the new mages work are new and creative. It takes a while to figure out how to use them properly, but Aeon's End has always been like that and I like it that way.

One of the best deck-builder co-op board games
This is a standalone game in Aeon's End series. You can play it without other Aeon's End game, but I recommend starting with either base game or The New Age.
