Another excellent value from Orient
Orient makes terrific watches and this one is no exception. This is my second Orient and both offer incredible value and styling for the money. I won’t comment on its looks, since if you are reading this review, you probably agree with me that the case design and the incredible deep green color of the starburst dial and bezel make this watch very appealing to the eye. I will confine my review to comments about its fit, finish, features and performance. The 200-meter water resistant case is executed flawlessly – the upper surfaces are brushed and the sides are polished. The transition between finishes is crisp and precise which reflects quality and attention to detail, and belies the modest price of this watch. The crystal is sapphire which is a nice upscale touch on a watch that sells for under $250. The 120-click, unidirectional rotating bezel offers a tactile feel as good as any watch out there, with very positive knurling and no perceptible backlash. The bezel itself appears to be made of aluminum. While I would have preferred a ceramic or sapphire bezel, the choice of aluminum is fully in keeping with the price of this watch. The applied indices give the watch the look of a far more expensive timepiece. Orient’s lume, which is applied to the indices, the hands and the 12 o’clock pip on the bezel, is simply incredible. I put the watch away in a dark drawer for the day at 5pm and 13 hours later when I retrieve the watch in the dark for the next day, I can still read the time. The signed crown (laser etched) is offset at 4 o’clock and this keeps it from digging into the back of the hand. The crown is large, tastefully knurled, and appropriately scaled for the 43.4mm diameter case. It locks and unlocks smoothly, and winds effortlessly. The brushed 22mm watch band is very comfortable to wear and super easy to size. The solid stainless steel links are retained by pins that are easily pushed out and then reinstalled with a pin removal/installation tool. Fortunately, there are no tiny collars that work in conjunction with the pins, like Seiko is fond of using. The band looks great and is securely fastened through the use of a locking safety hasp and double triggers. Admittedly, the band has hollow end links and the clasp is stamped, but I suppose that Orient had to economize somewhere to bring you such a great watch at so reasonable a price. Also, keep in mind that the hollow end links and stamped clasp are invisible when the watch is worn on the wrist, so no one other than the owner will know that the band is an “economy model.” The beefy, solid stainless steel links suit the rugged look of the watch well, and the brushed finish blends perfectly with the brushed finish on the top of the case. Orient must be aware that polished buckles are scratch magnets so it thoughtfully provides a brushed finish on the stamped buckle that does a great job hiding visible scratches. As for accuracy, the automatic Orient in-house F6722, which hand winds and hacks, has gained 11 seconds over the last 9 days, for a daily accuracy average of +1.22 seconds per day, astounding chronometer performance from a sub $250 dollar watch! I will say that this accuracy does not appear to be a fluke, since my other Orient watch, a Kanno equipped with the closely-related F6922 movement, exhibits similar stellar timekeeping performance. The movement is easily regulated by keeping the watch in the “crown up” position at night. I have worn the watch every day now for 9 days, and it has run constantly throughout that time, so I can’t comment on the power reserve except to say that even slight movement throughout the day (I have a “desk” job) provides sufficient rotor activity to keep the watch running without pause.I will say that the box that the watch comes in is pretty cheap and does not reflect the quality of the product that it contains. To Orient’s credit, it cheapened the box, an easily replaced item, instead of the watch. For under $250, this watch offers incredible value. Like all Orient watches, it is made in Japan, including the movement, and reflects the quality that we have come to expect from JDM products. You won’t go wrong with this one, in what-ever dial color you select.

Amazing watch and incredible value!!
I've had this watch for about 2 weeks now. The color of the green dial is amazing. I also have the green Orient Kamasu, and the green on this Triton is more of a true green, versus the Kamasu which is more of a teal green. I love the larger size on this watch, and let me tell you...the lume is the best I have seen on any watch. It literally lasts all night long. If you're on the fence about this watch, trust me and get it. A similarly spec'd Seiko will run you close to and above $1,000. You won't be disappointed!

Really nice watch
This is a great-looking watch. I've mostly had Seikos and Citizens, and I was looking for something different. I'd seen Orients advertised, but never looked at them in detail. I thought they would be too big on my wrist, which is just under seven inches around. While it is a large watch, as other have commented, it does wear smaller than its objective diameter. I removed two links and reset the adjustment to its smallest size, and it fits perfectly. It does not feel oversized, and the wristband is comfortable. Fit and finish are excellent. The rotating bezel strikes a nice balance between heft, crispness, and stability. The winder/adjuster operates smoothly and precisely. The hands align perfectly with the markers. The green looks black in dim light but is both deep and bright in brighter light. Shipment was immediate. So far, so good!

Not quite as Green as pictured
I bought this because I needed to replace an old quartz Seiko dive watch and I wanted an automatic movement. I've also been attracted to green faced watches recently and this one looked particularly nice - traditional face with good reviews and an extroadinary price point compared to the usual brands like TAG, etc. I removed 2 links and it fits my wrist perfectly without any metal clanking of the bracelet. So far it's kept great time and looks good, except for one thing - The dial and ring are both black in most light. the green only shows under bright light. This is a bit of a dissapointment, as I wanted a green bezel and face. It's there - but it's not at the same time. Still, a great value for the money. Perhaps I should have given more thought to the red faced version. Hmmm.

great value proposition
Orient delivers alot of watch for the money. This watch looks great and is a bit of a spec monster. I actually like wearing it more than my Seiko SSC917 Speedmaster.

A BEAUTIFUL Watch at a Budget Price
When I first opened the box, I thought they had sent me the wrong item as it looked almost black until I got it under some bright light. It is definitely NOT the light-green color as suggested in the review photos but a darker, more elegant green (in my opinion). The large sunburst dial is absolutely gorgeous, as are the hands, markers, and matching green bezel. I was concerned that the watch would look and wear too large on my skinny 6.25-inch wrist, but (thankfully) that was not the case! My only lingering concern is whether the crystal is truly sapphire, as it does not respond to the "forehead test" as expected. I will be having this tested more accurately soon and, if not sapphire, it will be returned as defective.January 2022 Update: It is DEFINITELY a sapphire crystal and one of my primary go-to watches. I have more Orient watches in my collection than any other brand, and I absolutely love them all!
