Works well, heavy, battery lasts a long time
Bought this when I was tasked with rebuilding our front garden fence and I didn't like the idea of banging a thousand nails in my hand.Very clear instructions on how to use. Will take Tacwise nails and staples (not at the same time). The carry case has space for boxes of nails/staples and a spare battery (if you decide to buy one - I have not - as the battery lasts a really long time and charges quickly). It is 'hefty', but it got easier to use as I got used to the weight. Single click and automated modes work well and lots of nice safety features that should stop all but the most wilful doing something stupid with the pointy end.

Duo 35staple / nail gun by Tacwise
Purchased December 2013 after reading that it replaced earlier models which apparently didn't have a good reputation.Used this to make a trellis for climbing roses, using staples into softwood. It worked quite well but after about 30 staples it jammed. This continued until I finished the job, every 20 or 30 staples it jammed. This was over twelve months ago. I didn't use it for a few months then after six months or so used it again making a storage box with plywood. Same thing happened, roughly 2 dozen staples and jam! Still, with some patience managed to finish the box.Today needed to staple a piece of mesh onto a wooden frame which was twenty inches by twenty. To put in forty staples took about an hour. Every third or fourth staple jammed! On two occasions three staples came out together. Now completely fed up with it, am going to try and find out where the Tacwise research department is so that I can send it to them in order that they can use it to find out why it is such a c- -p piece of rubbish. It cost me over £80, I am existing on a basic state pension and cannot afford to waste money, but I will donate it free for research purposes. Even if they manage to fix it I don't want it back, it really is that useless. The case it came in is quite good and the gun looks the part but that is as far as I can go. Maybe I was unlucky?Watch this space for the outcome.19 April 2015On 1st April, out of the blue, I received a message through Amazon customer discussions from Tacwise who said they were concerned about my experience with this product and would like to put things right. I must add that at that time, due to personal family health reasons I had not got around to contacting them, so this came as quite a surprise. After a couple of exchanges by email with a gentleman in Tacwise customer services, though reluctant at first, I agreed to accept an offer of a brand new replacement unit.On April 8th I posted the faulty unit (my opinion) on 48 hour delivery to them. I received the new item on the following Tuesday as promised.Although retired, at this time I have a very busy schedule and the project on which the stapler will be used is way down the list so I prepared a small item to use it on just to test it. Great guns, I used 150 staples without one misfire or jam! Incredible, compared to the original machine.Obviously it is a bit soon to shower too much praise on it , but must say the stapler itself has a solid, robust feel about it, which to me is usually a good sign. When I have completed a larger project I will post my results here asap.Having strongly condemned the original machine I must now state my experience with Tacwise customer services. It can only be described as second to none! The gentleman who contacted me offered me a good service and yes that is what I have had. In compensation for the cost of my returning the unit to them I received a large quantity of nails and staples plus, unexpectedly, a staple removing tool. Each contact has been a pleasure. For the company to chase me on the strength of my negative review and to press me to accept the replacement unit is truly amazing, and, beyond 12 months of original purchase. I recommend anyone who has a problem with one of these tools, don't hesitate to contact them for help.My rating for Tacwise customer service is 5 stars, first class! I cannot praise them highly enough.

Good enough but not great
Easy to use and set up. It's also easy to load and clear in the event of fouling. I bought this item for panelling out my shed ( 10mm ply sheets) and it simply couldn't penetrate adequately therefore, having to use a hammer to finish the job of seating the nail. It was useful for thin MDF and light beading/ trim albeit you still, on occasion, needed to hammer nails home. 'Heavy duty' it most definitely isn't.

Quality and value for the money.
The nail/staple gun arrived yesterday, so I haven't time to use it yet, but I have found that there is no instructions or guarantee supplied, this will have to be rectified, as this can be a dangerous tool to use, so for health and safety reasons these need to be, supplied with every nail/staple gun.

Condition
Excellent condition, was a bit hesitant to use but needed it for my woodworking projects, although when first stated using it, it felt a little heavy nut the more I use it the more I absolutely love it, does everything I need it for wether it’s nailing things or using the staples very good so many applications. Tacwise has an excellent range of nails/staples in varying sizes but also does a variety packReally worth buying

ABYSMAL!
I'm amazed at how terrible this is.Lets start with the issues, and the positive things are below that.BAD:Fell to pieces on first use. It did about 150 nails and staples and then destroyed itself. It fired a nail sideways that went through the "non marking" head, and at the exact same time it broke off a huge metal piece from the side of the machine's head. This head is made from cast metal, very poor choice of material. I would guess cast iron or some cast alloy.- Leaves awful marks in the wood. When shooting nails it's a huge gash in the wood to the left side of the nail. When shooting staples it's only slightly visible, it often leaves a square shape with numbers, because there's raised numbers on the plastic "non marking" head. See photos attached. This is an issue even if you don't press down hard on the machine.- Often fires two staples at once. I don't mean one after the other, I mean two staples come out at same time.- Also, it's possible to accidentally double fire, one after the other. There is no protection from pressing the trigger twice by accident.- SUPER loud. Wear ear protection in my opinion.- Not always able to go through knots in wood, but this might depend on the staples used. I only used Tacwise staples and nails.- On/Off switch too easy to move. Not a big issue, but not ideal.- Not usable with one hand if you want flush nails. Bounces away from the material and you end up with a non-flush nail/staple. This is to be expected I guess. for staples I suppose you could use it with one hand, as staples don't always have to be flush with the material.- Jams fairly often. I guess around one jam every 35 shots.- With the Tacwise nails and staples (Tacwise say you should only use their own brand with this) the gun breaks up the row of staples and nails that are in the unit, I guess from the vibration or impact. This means if you need to change sizes often you will end up with a big mess of small rows of staples/nails. I'm not sure if that's an issue with the machine or consumables, or both. In any case, I'm returning everything.GOOD AND OKAY:- Very powerful.- Not too heavy.- Carry case not too bad. Not great though. No staple/nail storage in the carry case.- 2m cable - Not great, but not too bad.- Fairly okay grip, a bit thick and squarish. No rubber. Not as nice to hold as most name brand tools in this price range. Not a big issue.- Easy to load nails and staples.- Fairly easy to clear jams.- Trigger okay. I'd say it's maybe a bit too easy to press.- The nail/staple holder is made from thick sheet steel. And the body is made from what seems like good quality plastic. As mentioned above, the head is made from cast iron or other alloy, which is very thin and weak.I'm returning this and I'll be looking for something better. I doubt I'll be buying power tools from Tacwise again. Shame, their manual staplers are not too bad, although I've had to return one of those too.
