Pretty close to the real thing
So far these have fooled my cockatiel who is laying on them. Please see photo of the faux egg on the left and the real cockatiel egg on the right.

Bird eggs
Used these for our cockatiel to stop laying eggs and they worked perfect. The size and appearance was nearly the exact same

Conure Buys It So Far...
These eggs are so similar in shape/size and coloration to my GCC's first egg that I had to give a review the same day I received them in the mail. They are substantial, too - sturdy little things that won't wear out any time soon.My husband has already swapped out the egg with Church's real egg, and she seems none the wiser 4 hours later. For anyone wondering, we decided to order these to avoid any potential issues that can occur with egg laying, especially with this being her (and our) first time around. I'm so happy with the quality and item count for the price.I have to add that delivery being next day is fantastic because we (naively?) hoped that we'd get to skip that "becoming a lady" part although we have 2 female GCCs... but now we have enough fake eggs to swap multiple clutches if Church's "sister" starts laying as well!

Fooled our birds
Our birds didn't accept these at first, but as I slowly replaced hers with these one at a time, she decided to sit on them instead. Good size and weight, color a little whiter than our bird's eggs (but that could vary from one hen to another). Very slight seam where the plastic molds meet; perhaps that was what caused her to ignore them at first.

Good Quality
The photo on the left shows the set of 8 dummy eggs I purchased in this set. The photo on the right shows an actual egg from my cockatiel side by side with an egg from the set. As you can see, the dummy eggs are somewhat larger than what my bird actually produces. ( I deducted one star for accuracy of size). My sweetie pie is stuck in a non-stop nesting marathon, and I am worried about her health. She has laid 4 clutches in the past 10 months. After reading up on the use of dummy eggs to curb chronic egg laying, I will now be giving her all 8 eggs at once as recommended, after she lays the first egg of her next new clutch. For now, I have removed the 5 natural eggs in her present clutch, and replaced them with 7 dummy eggs, as she looks ready to lay another egg. I’ll replace the new egg as well. My bird has accepted the dummy eggs just fine, so I am happy about that. She has tucked them all underneath her and is taking excellent care of them. The eggs are smooth and sturdy feeling. They are washable and seem like they will last a long while. A good purchase overall.

Very realistic
Purchased after our 2 year old cockatiel began laying eggs. Vet recommended taking precautions to prevent her from laying often or even ever again because it is quite risky for cockatiels to get an egg stuck while trying to lay. One of the recommended ways to help prevent is by placing false eggs inside her cage near the original spot she laid her first ones. These feel very realistic- same weight, texture and shade of white as the ones our bird laid so very easy to use to trick her into believing she already laid enough.

To keep your bird from overlaying
These are to keep your small female birds from overlaying eggs and getting egg bound which is vey dangerous and life threatening. I don’t remember if it came with exact directions or not but please look up how to properly use them. If your female lays an egg do NOT remove it. As she has her eggs you will slowly substitute a real egg for one of these imitation eggs, if you took her eggs away she will lay more which will be very taxing on her body. Let her keep sitting on the eggs until she decides that they are not going to hatch and leaves them alone and then you can remove all the imitation eggs and save them for when it happens again. The real eggs are not viable. Females will lay eggs without mating. These are used for a cockatiel. An extra tip; if your bird ever becomes “egg bound”, meaning they can not pass an egg and it is stuck NEVER try to remove the egg as it will crack inside of her. Put some olive or coconut oil around the area and get her to your avian vet immediately. So I recommend that you DEFINITELY buy these eggs for the SAFETY of your bird. It could be life or death for real. If people who care buy these Amazon should be constantly having to restock. Enjoy your feathered friends, Amazon customers!
