if I could only have one knife…
I can’t promise it would be this one (I love my knives) but it would definitely be in my top 3 wusthoff knives. I have been collecting them for 30+ years, have way too many but so still have my very first one. People say these are expensive, but how many sets of “cheap” knives have they been through in those three decades. The wustoff classic to me is the perfect construction. the handles are almost indestructible (my 8” chefs nice did go down a running disposal handle first it popped back up with a small chip and still going more than 20’years later), the fully riveted full tang construction leaned the knives feeling solidly in your hand and most are well balanced. This knife is incredibly versatile- it has a good enough feel that you can use it like a paring knife in a pinch, but still enough size to cut a cantaloupe if you must. it may be the knife that stays out of the block the most. like all wustoff classics it looks great. again, i’m not sure I could live with just one knife but I also don’t think I could leave this one behind! in the picture it is shown with a 4” utility knife. if you are just learning to take care of fine blades, this is also a good knife to learn sharpening- it’s not so small that it is difficult and not so large that it is daunting.

wusthof 6 inch utility knife, classic
nice knife. sharp out of the box. i noticed the sharpening was not done well, as there is a 2 inch area near the handle that was not fully sharpened at the correct angle. did not expect that from a company that boasts about laser precision. ill have to whet stone sharpen that area to match the 15% edge

Keeps it's edge.
I bought an inexpensive version, but had to keep honing it during use. The Wüsthof keeps its edge -- heaven! I have Wüsthof knives from over 40 years ago that are as good as new and will stay that way as long as you take care of them.Highly recommend.

Love It
What can I say, it's Wusthof and it's pink. I think the Classic collection is nice. I started with the Zwilling Twins Star II but I like the classic line better. I think it is because I have smaller hands and get a better grip on the handle.

Expensive, yes, worth it, absolutely yes!
Wusthof knives are expensive, however, they are worth every penny! The quality is unsurpassed. A knife that will last a lifetime. Since purchasing the first, we have purchased other knives from the series and are thrilled with all of them.
