Working cost effective instrument
It is important to have available working cost effective instruments that can create a spark in the imagination of children and young adults. The quality, material, and thought that went into creating Eisco Real Gold Leaf Electroscope is very apparent. Thank you. M.L. Lundquist

Not what I expected
The cost was reasonable, the instrument was good quality and good appearance. The instrument came with no usage guidelines and the gold leafs had to be assembled by delicate gluing , which was beyond my ability. I took it to a jeweler and he too had trouble attaching the leaf so that it was straight and close to the number scale but not touching. The kit included a spare leaf, which was appreciated. A grounding wire was not included and would have been worth an increase in price. I would not have bought it had I known these limitations.

Great for science fair!
The gold foil was a pain to put on- but there were instructions and after that it worked great!

Terrible quality
Arrived with broken glass. Says it comes with instructions to attach gold leaf, but it did not. Instructions are not available on their website either.

gold leaf is not attached to the device
The gold leaves are not installed in the device; they come separated in the package. It is a pain to try to attach them to the electroscope. I destroy them in the process, but I replaced them with aluminium foil and the electroscope works satisfactory.

TERRIBLY TEDIOUS SETUP
The designers of the instructions seem to have purposely made it impossible to follow. Also, they have YOU glue and manually cut stuff. I couldn't even get it to work. Very bad. Save you money, terrible user experience, NOT easy to use! Beware.
