Too Fast?
So it was a great story. I liked all the elements, but it moved fast. Almost like it was the first draft after an outline. Going to keep reading them, but I felt there could have been more.

Paranormal Academy Series Starter
Luna is unhappy with her life, about to graduate from high school and age out of the foster care system. Since paranormals are out of the closet due to the reality dating show Hitched, Luna is so curious to meet one, but it is unlikely to happen in her small town. But one day Luna has a visitor, a half sister she never knew existed, who is planning to whisk her out of the world she grew up in to take part in the supernatural.I wanted to read Half-Blood after I read the author's previous series Hitched and adored it. I had thought Half-Blood was set in the same world, but I had no idea that this was basically a spin off with cameo's from all my favorite cast mates from Hitched- and my favorite guy Ryder is the love interest! Once Ryder showed up, I was sold on the book (keep in mind I was already enjoying it, but Ryder makes everything better!). Keep in mind that you can read this as a standalone without having read Hitched first (Luna a brand new character), but I don't recommend it because you would miss out on all the previous world building and relationship dynamics of the side characters. This was a nice balance of supernatural shenanigans, magical academy school drama and forbidden love angst. I flew through the pages of the book, completely engrossed in the world building and the danger, hoping for a HEA for my new favorite forbidden couple, and overall really enjoying this read. I listened to the audio and the narrator was a perfect choice for Luna, giving her just the right amount of spunk and determination as well as sounding perfectly age appropriate. I really liked this story and I can't wait to jump back into the series, be it audio or ebook.

I’m undecided
This was a fun story and I liked the characters and world building. I couldn’t stop picturing Zodiac Academy while reading this though. There are so many parallels. I’m ok with that…I don’t even know which book was first so I’m making no accusations here. I couldn’t finish all of ZA because of the language, immaturity and the endless unhappy endings. Id love to see a fresh take on that story with those issues resolved. So then here comes Darkblood Academy…It’s as if someone read ZA and then decided to write a pretty good fanfiction.I enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. I do feel like a lot of things are incredibly shallow, but that could also be because I keep comparing this to Zodiac Academy and it really is making me miss just how much detail and emotion went into that one! The teacher/student relationship in this book is not believable at all. They’re just lusting after one another. There has been absolutely nothing that has brought them together in any way emotionally. It’s all about appearances and lust. I’m definitely not into that. I’ve enjoyed everything else for the most part though. I really just want to keep comparing this and ZA so I’m just going to shut up and move on 😂 I mainly just enjoyed that this was an interesting, quick read….even if I needed more.

a little boring
The world is interesting, but I found the construction of the novel difficult to push through and boring at parts. We already know what is going to happen with the romance and we know Luna will have powers. Besides that and because it’s so predictable, the story lacked enough drama to make it compelling read. Also, the consistent censorship of swear words became annoying after a while. I wish this was less predictable bc the world is well built and interesting. Not sure I’ll be reading on. Felt kind of like a slog to finish this one.

Author Auto buy! Love her work but this is my favorite yet!
6 stars!!! I freaking loved this book. Some how G.K. Derosa tapped into my head and gave me EVERYTHING I wanted in a Upper YA Paranormal Romance. Luna was a strong willed, relatable character. She was curious of the supernatural community especially after the TV show Hitched aired. But little did she know she was going to become a part of that world shortly after the story begins. Brought to an Academy that teaches and trains paranormal beings Luna's world is about to be turned upside down.I loved the world building in this book. And even though this is technically a spin off series, the book can be read by itself. I ended up loving this book so much that that I now see Hitched as a fun prequel that adds to the world building in all the best ways. I think it might be my favorite of GK Derosa's work. The romance was amazing because even though there was an instant attraction from Luna (since the love intrest happens to be one of the previous Bachelors from the Hitched series) it was a really good slow burn. I ship this couple sooo hard. (Not a RH in case you are wondering.)Long story short: I loved the worldbuilding, character development, friendships and romance in this book. G.K. Derosa ran with the popular Academy theme I am addicted to and made it her own!!(Again, I know I mentioned the Hitched series quite a bit, but it doesnt need to be read before this book...it just makes it that much more enjoyable 😍😍😍)

Lovely
I want to know if the FMC will end up with more than Riley or not. So far, everything is good. I liked the plot about the mark and I think that's how her magic will unravel.

Paranormale YA-Story
Nachdem ihre Pflegemutter verstorben ist, wächst Luna Hallow die nächsten Jahre in einem kalten Waisenhaus auf. An ihrem 18.
