Awesome Read
Ok I am going to start this review with this book is amazing seriously I could not put it down from start to finish, I mean who needs to sleep right? One thing you can say about a Tijan book is that they are never ever predictable.Riley is such a strong character you cannot help but admire her. She was born with a silver spoon but not in a family that was ever what you would call ideal. She was sent away so that she was no longer forced to be a witness to her fathers temper and the way that he treated her mother. It was when she was thirteen that she first became entangled with the Bennett family when she met Brooke the mafia princess herself but their friendship was something hing she has cherished into her adult life ever after she was sent home after the death of her father. Itβs thirteen years later and Riley is happily living a life she has built to help people that is until she finds herself kidnapped and being forced to help Kai Bennett locate his runaway sister and fighting an attraction to a man and a lifestyle she should hate.Kai Bennett is the leader of the Bennett Mafia family he does what he has to in order to keep his family safe but Riley has always got to him and now he needs her to find his sister Brooke. He tries everything he can to keep the people in his life safe from any threats but Riley represents light in his dark twisted world can he really corrupt her and would she even want to stay?We go on a twisted journey with this book but you cannot help but love Kai and Riley in fact all of the Bennetts, such a fantastic read and one I know I will revisit. Highly recommended book.

Roller coaster
Bit of a rollercoaster this one, well written with good characters and dialogue. Story of a friendship between two girls, one a mafia princess and the other an unwanted daughter of a cruel man.The mafia princess Brooke goes missing and her older brother suspects her friend Riley has something to do with it.This book had it's ups and downs, I couldn't relate to Rileys persona because of all the health issues, I lost count now many times she fainted or blacked out and for someone who had training, she was crap at it. The last quarter of the book however was completely different because it was so gripping and consuming. The story really shone at this point.SpoilerThe ending that was kais fault, by going after Riley that wouldn't have happened. Why did she just forgive him, nope not buying it.She should have walked away intact and Kai should have loved from afar. Then maybe get together thereafter.Worth a read. The last quarter of the book was sublime.

Disappointing
I can't agree with the glowing 5star reviews on this book as I personally found it a hard slog that on several occasions I was ready to hack it in and not bother finishing it. The first half was so all over the place I couldn't at times figure out what was going on. The lead female Riley was not endearing to me. I struggled to empathise and for the most part found her shallow and irritating. She was supposed to be this trained operative but the constant crying fainting and Jekyll & Hyde emotions just made me want to scream. A real shame overall as the premise of the book was what free me in.

A book to get you hooked
Iβm not really a fam of mafia books but when I read the blurb it got me curious about the book. So when I finally finished it at 2.44 in the morning I was tempted to re-read it because I loved it that much. Tijan is an amazing author who writes about topics which can connect with everyone and she has done a wonderful job on this book too. Canβt wait for more books from this talented author. Best wish βπ½

Brilliant!
Holy mother of pearl!!!This book is freaking amazing!!! And yes I needed al t hose exclamation marks to get my point across! Tijan's ability to write a book that is so captivating is not news to me. I have read all her books by now so I shouldn't be surprised and yet she came out with this and it was EPIC!This book is about Riley and her life, how she came to be who she was and how things are not always right or wrong, black or white. Something happens to her childhood best friend and so she jumps into helping even though she's forced into it. Kai is the ultimate bad boy who you can't help but hate to love. The twists and turns will have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation and the love that happens through out his book is beautiful in a twisted way. The anticipation will have you on the edge of your seat, and the only reason I didn't finish this in one day is because I actually had to get to sleep. Keep some tissues and a lot of chocolate on hand, you'll need them all.

An unusual love story. Drama at the end.
Everyone knew the Bennett family were mafia. Riley met Brooke Bennett when she was sent away to school to avoid her abusive father. They became best friends until Brooke was whisked away one day. Riley became a hider helping woman to get away from their husbands and she became very good at her job. She was kidnapped, taken by Kai Bennett. He was a beautiful, dangerous man and Riley fell for him even though she knew he was a killer and then when she had fallen in love with him it all went south. Riley was probably the only woman that could manage the life he had but Kai didnt want that for her.

Not for me *sad face*
Why are all the female leads depressing in these books? I think that's what put me off and I couldn't finish the book.Fallen Crest is one of my favourite series and I read that before any other book from Tijan. So whenever a knew one releases, the female lead is another Sam and after so many books, it kind of gets boring and annoying.I can't comment on story line as I stopped reading at 56%. It just wasn't for me. And I'm kind of gutted because I read and loved most of her books.Writing however, was amazing as always.
