Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life

Todd Oldham has done a great job of paying tribute to an overlooked legend in the business. Many grew up with his illustrations as a child, and there is something simple/childlike about his illustration and complex at the same time.This is a huge hardback book with no dust cover. The boards are thicker than normal, probably due to the dimensions of the book. The book is 425 pages and the artwork is lavishly reproduced with no printing issues that I notice. It was a gift but I have one. Beautiful book

Became a fan when Todd Oldham got a license and produced the Charlie Harper images on glass. I got a few and it brought me back to my first earth science textbook and happy days discovering the natural world as a little child.Book which is produced by TO really gives you a sense of Charlie Harper and a deeper look into his work.

For any Charley Harper fan! Bright and beautiful illustrations of his iconic birds and wildlife depictions. Only wished the book was a little larger.

Charlie Harper could draw anything in the simplist and purist form possible. He removed the distractions and allowed you to see a thing’s true design. Nobody did it better!!!

This book is amazing! Great graphics and pages upon pages of his work. I discovered a lot about Charley Harper that I had never known! This book encompasses a lot of his work, over his whole career, and is absolutely wonderful. It is great to see how he started out and how he progressed, from project to project. I love the interview with Charley at the beginning. It is a huge book, and pretty heavy. But that has not discouraged me from reading the whole thing in one sitting! If you order this book, you will not be disappointed.

I am a fan and collector of Charley Harper's, and, that being said, this book is truly a beautiful and wonderful representation of his work. Also, I want to say as an owner of the large $200 dollar edition of this book, I have to admit that I like this one better. The big one is really tough to physically handle due to its size and weight. Plus the pages in the big book are matte and really don't do Charley's work justice. This smaller version has glossy pages which allows all the images to really pop off the page. Please note that this version of the book has every single image and page that is in the larger version -- EVERY PAGE. So, buy this for yourself and buy one for a gift...everyone will love this book.

Muito bom. Só nostalgia. Ilustrações bonitas, ingênuas e relaxantes (refiro-me mais às dos anos 50 e 60). Memórias de um tempo quando a saúde mental das pessoas andava melhor...Gostaria sinceramente de ver mais composições como a da capa (as ilustrações vêm do livro de Biologia) no interior do livro.Pena que o preço do livro tenha baixado algum tempo depois da compra. Paciência...

Fantastic book, if you can afford the bigger version buy it. Worth every penny you are investing. Full of beautiful artwork but don't expect lots of text here.

Me encantó el libro, tiene muchas ilustraciones de toda la trayectoria de Parker. Bien impreso y encuadernado. Quizá el formato es un poco pequeño y consecuentemente la letra también.Yo pedí el mío a la Distribuidora Marín. El libro llegó antes de lo prometido, bien empaquetado y en perfectas condiciones.
