I got this earlier this winter, and so far it is great. It has a nice balance between weight and stiffness/strength. The size is slightly smaller than a typical wood-handled grain scoop, but still big enough to make a great snow shovel, which is how I have used it so far. (The snow slides off readily.) I think it will also be useful, though, in the spring for shovelling bedding out of the barn, because the plastic is thick and stiff enough to scrape hard, and the edge is strong and sharp. The bottom of the blade is flat, so stuff doesn't get jammed in there as it can with the usual scoop.The handle is large enough that the shovel is easy to use with mittens. If it has a drawback - and this is a minor quibble indeed - the plastic handle is a bit slippery with wool gloves or mittens, more slippery than the wood handles I am used to. I use it anyway with wool mittens, though, so it's not really much of a problem. I like this tool a lot, and I believe it will hold up well (I'm hard on stuff), better than recent iterations of the plastic grain scoops I used to buy, which have gotten chintzier and chintzier - and more expensive - as the years have gone by. Especially for the very reasonable price, this shovel is a real buy. It's made in the U.S.A. as well, I believe, which is nice. And it's even a pretty nice-lookin' color!

Unfortunately, it is too short handled for my use, but seems to be a great shovel. Wanted to let you know...it says this package was handed to the resident. I am the only resident AND IT WAS NOT HANDED TO ME. Apparently it was handed to a neighbor who was walking by. Fortunately they were nice enough to bring it down to my porch

Straight sharp edge Used for snow

I love this shovel came perfectly time cause just 3 days later we got a heavy snowstorm here in Chicago, and when I say this baby helped it really helped. I’m super short around 4’9 and it’s almost as tall as me so for me it was a bit hard to use at first,but after a while I got the hang of it and I cleared the snow easily.

It worked great! We use it for chicken poop and wood chips and it was very sturdy and was light so it makes it easier to scoop up.

Why did I wait so long and go through so many broken shovels before I got this? It's great.

I've always found this type of device helpful. With horses, it was a great barn-mucking shovel. I had one that became the "dust pan" that was big enough to handle what was raked up. This shovel in particular was great and made the job of moving garden mulch considerably easier. One piece construction, and it's good to know it's the last such shovel I'll buy in my lifetime! Asked a guy who was doing some work for me to fetch the barn shovel, and he had no idea what it was, that it looked like a snow shovel. I don't know how a household with a yard can get along without one. This one is a great choice.

This what I was expecting except that one of the measurements for shovel width was wrong should have said 14 inches across at opening not 6.5 inches. Well was in millimetres but worked out to about that.
