Chef'n Garlicmachine Meringue, One Size, White

I just received the product, and tried it. I was able to quickly peel about a half a head of garlic. Barley had to touch the peeled pieces, and they came out pretty much perfectly.

Bought this one for my son because he likes mine so much. I preload it with 6-10 cloves and use them as needed.It is really easy to clean and is very sturdy. Anyone who likes fresh garlic when cooking will love this tool.

For me and my wife, this is way better than the ones that have openings on both sides. There was always some unconscious muscle movements to make sure the garlic stayed inside with the others. We no longer have this issue.

This is a slightly different design of a screw top garlic press I've owned for years; people always comment on it and so when I saw this I decided to pick up a few as hostess gifts and they've been a hit. Anyone with arthritis will especially appreciate the design, and they are very quick and easy to use and clean.

I have used this product for years, and recommend it highly. I have had surgery on my right hand and have lost some strength in that hand. Therefore, I cannot use a traditional garlic press. I am so fortunate that I found this product which does the job perfectly. Some people complain it is difficult to remove the press head located inside the cylinder. I recommend using a chopstick to push it out. I cannot comment on the newer model, since my original model continues to work fine ( I have had it for years and use it often).

My first time trying to use this, it broke. The garlic would not press through the holes but broke through them instead. Unfortunately, I waited too long to try it, and it's too late to return it now.

2/14/2024 UPDATE: was hoping to find they had redesigned this but looks the same as when I purchased it. Too bad as the worst part I discovered after I wrote my original review. The cylinder only allows about 2 garlic cloves because although the handle extends all the way out (as in the 6th picture on the website), the "plug" only goes down the cylinder a short distance instead of allowing the entire tube to fill. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.Had one of these for many years and loved it! I believe it was made by the same company but not sure. The design of this one leaves much to be desired. The top turning knob is V-shaped; was easier to turn when it was flat. The opening where the garlic comes out has a notch holding it closed. More difficult to open; old one just slid over. The way the lid opens requires me to use a paring knife to snip off the garlic while you just slid the lid over on the older model and the garlic fell off. Sure hope this goes back to the "drawing board" for a different version as I would buy the old one in a nano-second! The only part I really like is that it holds pieces of garlic and I don't have to peel garlic every day - it just sits in the cylinder.
