Streamlight 78101 Stinger 2020 2000-Lumen Rechargeable Professional Flashlight with 120V AC/12V DC 1 Holder Charger, Black

I've had a Stinger LED for about 10 years and it's been a great reliable flashlight. I thought it's 425 lumens were awesome and loved it's beam. Didn't care for the way of changing the mode from low/med/high by holding the button down to switch modes though. In searching for a better light I happened on the Stinger 2020 (78101). 2000 lumens on high! 850 on medium and 100 on low. WAY BRIGHTER than my Stinger LED. Not only brighter but a much wider field of light projection. I ordered the model with the AC (electrical plug in) charger and the DC car charger. The new gray colored charger slowly flashes the red light when it's fully charged, stays solid red until then. My old black charger for my Stinger LED stays solid red, with no indication that it's fully charged. According to emails from Streamlight leaving either light on it's charger beyond it's full charge will not harm or shorten the life of the battery(s), but it's nice to know when it's fully charged with the new gray charger. Not sure if the DC charger flashes red when fully charged since I haven't tried it yet. I love the 2020"s manual switch that controls the power/brightness level. No awkward holding the button down to switch between high/med/low modes like the Stinger LED, just slide the switch on the 2020 to your desired brightness level. My only complaint of the 2020 is the power button on the front head is not very pronounced and takes a bit more effort to "click" on/off than the Stinger LED. I wish they had a different AC (electric) charging system than their "piggyback" charger. Not easy to insert the flashlight into or to get it out of the charger (same for the Stinger LED). There is the option to remove the batteries and charge them directly with the 2020 but too tedious for me and requires a different charging cord that was not standard. Anti roll with the squared off body of the 2020 is a plus over the LED's round body. The biggest most obvious difference is the overwhelming brightness of the 2020 over the LED. The LED puts out a good beam but the 2020 puts out the beam with broad area coverage, not really in the same category. 2020 bottom line: Super bright with beam and broad area coverage, easy power level control switch, flashing red light when charged with new gray charger, could be easier head power button. Also has a more responsive tail cap power button, although I find this less useful and more awkward to use than the head power button. 9/10

This light is well worth the cost.- Extremely bright in middle and high setting- Can frequently be used as sole source of light when performing service in dark dangerous areas. I frequently place it end up under an exhaust hood or Stainless Steel table to eluminate upwards and give excellent, safe indirect light. Medium setting is perfect for this type of use.- Charger Stand is the best I ever experienced. Every night I clip it in and the indicator light tells me when fully charged. (BTW: I do not like the MICRO USB charging connector on the batteries. Too bothersome)- The User Interface is excellent. It’s like my Dodge minivan. SIMPLE AND RELIABLE. There are two “On - Off” buttons and one Slider to select three steps of brightness.- After almost two years of heavy daily use in wet dirty environments it developed only two minor issues. The black paint is pretty worm away and the end cap switch doesn’t work any more.After struggling with incandescent lamps, D cell Batteries and dirty contacts or having unreliable LED lights with insane UI’s this Light is the best I ever had.I recently learned that Streamlight sells through Amazon the battery carrier which includes the end cap switch. The price for that battery carrier is very reasonable.This convinces me even more that Streamlight respects its customers in every way.

I have wanted this light since they were introduced. I am not disappointed! I already had a charger and several chargers for 18650 batteries. I am using one of my chargers to charge because it is faster and more accurate. The light also came with a pigtail cable to charge the batteries.Like most of the Streamlight service lights, it is built massively. The switches on mine work flawlessly. Personally, I don’t need more than 3 levels. The high is a little better than 2k lumens and it has a combined spot/flood beam. It has an odd hotspot in the center of the beam. The stock batteries last a long time. If you want longer, get some 3500 mah protected cells for about a 33% increase in longevity.Summary: it is a darn good service light that withstands quite a bit of hard usage.

Streamlight steht für sich. Innovatives Lade System. Konnte meine alte Station benutzen, einfach klasse.Accus könnten etwas mehr Volumen haben. Bei 2000 Lumen gehen sie recht schnell in die Knie.Würde sie aber wieder kaufen, da die Vorteile die Nachteile überwiegen.

my previous Streamlight Stinger LED lasted me 15 years (and counting) of daily use and abuse as a field mechanic. I anticipate this to last me another 15. It is smaller and lighter than its predecessor.

Ya tengo más de un año con esta linterna y sin ninguna falla, la uso todas las noches ya que me dedico a la seguridad nocturna y la luz es superior a los modelos anteriores de las linternas Stinger, lo único malo es que por la forma que tiene es difícil conseguir una funda que le quedé y hasta la fecha la tengo sin funda, en el vídeo la intencidad de luz empieza bajo,medio,alto a una distancia de 40 metros.
