I read about these snacks in the book Pandora's lunchbox, and I'm glad I found them.The manufacturer, Mars, is a private company which can take its time researching and developing good food without answering to stockholders. They began 20 years and nearly 100 million dollars ago studying the flavanols in cocoa, which were suspected to be healthful, but are very bitter and do not survive processing well. The Mars scientists, in conjunction with academic scientists, found that flavanols widen the blood vessels so that oxygen and nutrients circulate better in the body. But in 2006 when they came out with a chocolate bar with flavanols nobody bought it.The goodness knows snack squares are a more recent effort. The variety reviewed here contains dried cranberries (first ingredient), almonds (second ingredient) and, in addition to a few other ingredients, chocolate. There are 200 mg flavanols in of one package (four squares).I eat daily a morning snack of two squares (half a package, 75 calories, one gram fiber, 5.5 grams sugar) and a glass of skim milk, I enjoy the candy, and I feel good about eating it.Naturally this quality product is more expensive than the typical candy bar. LOVE these granola bites!!! I found these bites last year at Costco, and only got one box. Since then, I have been searching for a decently priced supply and have found this to be difficult for sure! While Amazon does offer a fairly decent price for the package, it is still a bit up there. I love these because they are not overly sweet or filled with junk. The dark chocolate goes perfectly with the cranberries and almonds in the bars. If you can find them locally, I highly suggest trying them - but until then, I will buy them from Amazon but only as a special treat, because they really are quite yummy but fairly high on the price scale! Even at the subscription price, they are about a buck a pack/bar.

These are one of my favorite bars for flavor and lack of junk ingredient.s However, there are some obvious changes in the manufacturing, the squared are not nearly as even as previous boxes, and the packaging is very different on the individual packages which made them more difficult to open. Luckily, the flavor has not appeared to have changed, and the ingredients list looks the same, so I am very pleased with that.I haven't been able to find these at my local stores anymore. So far, Amazon has had them available, and I hope they continue to do so.

These are great for a variety of reasons. For one, they are delicious. It's like cranberry, almonds, and dark chocolate were meant to be together. Great on the go snack and the individual squares make them super convenient. I can split a bar with the kids or eat two squares and save the other two for later. I also can't think of any other bar that lists cocoa flavanol content. 100mg in each serving is a great added bonus!

Goodness Knows - I kept seeing commercials, but couldn't find them in my three frequented grocery stores. By chance I saw some at the checkout line, and decided to give one a try. I'm partial to Almonds and Dark Chocolate. These have four small squares per serving, and taste fantastic.I've done a lot of research into health snacks that appeal to my taste. Goodness Knows, beats the others hands down. Might be that the serving size is smaller, but that works for me. Since they were hard to find in stores, I leapt to Amazon. 18 count box was half the price, total, for what I was able to find in stores (believe it or not $2.09 per bar at *cough* the Chevron station).Great job Goodness Knows! Heartily recommended. :)

These treats are DELICIOUS and just the right thing with a cup of coffee..for that chocolate craving. My only criticism is the cost...VERY small for the price. They are packaged in four small bite pieces, which fools you into thinking you're indulging in more😊. We actually make a Similar healthy snack bar at home, but these are convenient. I don't know how long I'll keep buying them...due to cost. They are good!

I first tried these when I got an order from Walmart that included a sample of the Cranberry Almond bar. I am not normally a person who eats a health bar, or twigs, pine cones, acorns etc. But this sample was real good. Tangy cranberries, crunchy oats and almonds, and dark chocolate! So, as my subscribe and save order was coming up for delivery, I added a box of the Cranberry Almond. Arrived today, a HOT day, the container was slightly cold inside, but the house was hot so they did start to melt before I could get them in the refrig to harden up again. My fault, but they didn't melt much. I had one tonite, took a couple photos to show how tasty they look. Each square is not large, I can get 3 little bites out of each square, but, has to be better than a chocolate bar as an afternoon or evening treat. The dark chocolate is just a layer on the bottom, not real thick, but you can taste it when eating a square. They are probably about 1/4 to 1/3 inch thick. The other flavors don't sound as good to me, maybe the Cherry one, but it has peaches too, and I don't want to go there. Nor the Apple one. I would have to sample both before I purchased a box as they are not cheap, but then, neither is a Milky Way bar anymore! You get 18 bars to a box for the Cranberry Almond, the bars are 1.2 oz each.

I've been looking for these everywhere for a few years now! None of my local grocery stores sell them anymore. They are delicious and nutritious! And, they are so unique tasting compared to similar bars...I'm so glad I found them here and for a decent price for the amount of bars since they were almost $2 each in stores. Yay, Amazon!

More chocolate than i thought, but very good.
