I downloaded an app to help me prepare for the exam but I felt like it was too sporadic and that I needed something more structured, so I purchased this book. I am so grateful that I did! It broke the information down into sections that were manageable. I spend about 30-40 hours studying between this book and my app and passed with much to spare! This book gave me the confidence I needed. Don’t try to find free stuff online or just use an app. Buy this book and a notebook and take notes then use the quizzes to gauge your understanding. Retake the quizzes multiple times. The questions on the real test were very similar. Good luck!

I feel like a lot of the information is really introductory. A lot of common sense type things that all social workers already know. There was some theories & other things that were helpful to brush up on and I liked the practice questions with answer explanations. Also, there were a lot of typos in the book & several paragraphs just copy & pasted into other parts of the book twice? I mean, it got the job done though. I did the 2 week study plan in the book & passed the test the first time around. I’m sure there are better books, but this one is pretty cheap & has a lot of foundational material.
