I compared this auger bit to the same size Bosch and Wisfor auger bits. It drilled a messy hole, a bit better than the so called Bosch, but worse than the Wisfor or a normal drill bit with the same size.It is my understanding now that auger bits are just like Chiesels, so you have to take the time and effort to sharpen them right out of the box in order to perform as they should.It looks like most of them come blunt when new and that's just sad.

Used and have done what i needed

I’ve been using the 6mm bit to drill pilot holes in green Oak for the past couple of months, and to date, it’s been fine. However, it snapped this evening and I think that it’s something to do with its tempering. The tip is still perfect and sharp, but on Oak it does generate a lot of heat, so repeated heating may have weakened it. Perhaps a lower speed is called for, or they are not really suited for hard woods, then I don’t know, but I may have to resort to a named brand in future as they say you get what you pay for!

This counter sink counter skinks very well. The smallest one was too big but that's my own fault. I used it anyway and all my screw heads are nice and sunk. Next week I plan to use the mid-size bit to channel my own tunnel to china and if that works I think the big one may even be able to counter-sink a hole in space and time. If the large bit is up to the task I will travel through counter sunk spacetime to stop myself from buying such a big counter sink bit. @BareGrizzly

Bought these as needed longer bits for a particular job. Great quality and worked perfectly for what I needed. Would recommend this product

They work

Have only used the 6mm bit, drilling through 200mm depth of oak sleeper, and have done about 10 holes so far, and it' s still going through nice n easy. Good value
