Legendary eccentric performer Klaus Kinski (NOSFERATU: PHANTOM DER NACHT, JACK THE RIPPER, CRAWLSPACE) brings his inimitable brand of intensity to this rarely seen work of visceral European horror, presented here uncut for the first time in North America, remastered from the original 35mm negative! Kinski plays Professor Nijinski, whose work with experimental skin grafts has been aborted by a lab fire that has left his wife Tania (Katia Christine) now hideously burned, her face a bloody mass of flayed flesh and tissue. Nijinski vows to continue his research, venturing into the village with his hypnotized henchman (Erol Tas) to kidnap and murder local young woman and remove their skin, transplanting it onto his tortured wife's ruined skull. Will Nijinski get away with his hideous crimes and bring his beloved back to her previous luscious luster? Or will the long arm of the law put an end to his tirade of murder and mad science?

Excellent Video Quality
This review is about Full Moon’s Blu-ray of The Hand that Feeds the Dead. The video quality is superb! There appears to be little to no print damage in the source as well. There is only the original Italian audio option, with English subtitles available. While I missed the goofy charm of an awkward English dub, the superior video quality more than made up for this. If subtitles bother you, be aware. The movie itself drags a bit but is a lot of fun overall and is aided tremendously by the three gorgeous principal actresses. Then there’s Klaus Kinski - he’s notably restrained in this performance but still emits his underlying menace in the role of the classic mad scientist.Good stuff and recommended for Euro-cult fans!

Full Moon Blu-Ray First Impressions
The stars are for the product not the film. I have not watched the entire film, yet. I did watch the first couple minutes of the film and skipped through the chapters. I'm not an expert, but the image looks fantastic for such an obscure film. This is far superior to the typical output of MYA, One 7, etc. If Full Moon keeps this up, they may join the ranks of Mondo Macabro, Severin, Vinegar Syndrome, and similar companies. Film is in Italian with English subtitles. Highly recommended!

Fuzzy VHS copy...but great movie
My three stars is for the quality of the DVD not the film itself. But with cheezy flicks, its a hit or miss. You'll either get a vhs copy or an almost great quality release. But this was still watchable. Just not like the restored remastered versions of these euro films.

Great transfer of this Kinski rarity
An essential film for Klaus Kinski fans, and it's never looked better than in this beautiful transfer from Full Moon.

Subtitles are done from the original language.
Foreign language movies dubbed in English that have English subtitles were subtitled from the original language of the movie, not from the English dub. This is why the subtitles never match up with the English, and sometimes are WAY off.

Weird blu ray release, great movie
0 stars for the Blu ray, I could accept that it is subtitled only IF the subtitles were in proper English!! Grammatical errors non stop, clearly translated by a non English speaker.. why?! Laziness I’m sure! No extras either on this release which is basically a copy of the previous Mya DVD.. Of course Kinski shines and the face transplant stuff is why it’s worth watching anyway but don’t expect much in terms of this being a Blu ray upgrade.. disappointing Full Moon would do this
