This is a great kitchen Chef's knife!
Tho 10 inch Wusthof chefs knife (classic) is a must have that I have want foe a long time. It's at a reasonable price and was available for pickup at the local Amazon counter the next day. This is a knife that I will keep the rest of my life.

Classic knife.
You'd have to be real nitpicky to not give a Wusthoff Classic a 5 star. They're made well and hold and edge well. There's a reason Gordan Ramsey is usually holding a Classic or an IkonI'm very happy with this thing and I wish I just sucked it up and spent the cash on one sooner. The extra length has been wonderful as I prep and can large amounts of garden produce. The only "downer" is that the 10" probably isn't for you if you don't have a large cutting board.

Best Professional Quality Chef's Knife
This is such a great knife. It is high quality and extremely sharp. I guess it would be a good idea to have experience in handling this type of knife. If you do then you will appreciate what an amazing chef's knife this is.

This thing is a beast
This knife is a conversation starter--your guests may not have ever seen a knife of this size (it is not comically large, just decently big). That being said, where it shines in form, it does likewise in function--the heft of this blade gives you much greater latitude to cut things quickly, and the bolster makes its use less intimidating. There are probably more stylish options out there, but by no means is this line or knife strictly utilitarian.I have yet to try it on squash, melons, and large cuts of meat, but this is where you may find a knife of this size helpful, according to other reviewers. Unless you are trying to get by with one chef's knife (this is by no means unreasonable), I believe you get more with a 10 inch blade than an 8 inch blade, because smaller knives can do the more delicate tasks. If you want your chef's knife to shine when it slices and dices, and don't mind the flair that comes with a large blade, this is the blade for you.

Horrible CS
Wusthof ought to do better. I purchased, the next day they canceled it stating it was "out of stock" so I went back to find when it might be in stock again and wouldn't you know it, it was back in stock instantly... and $50 more. Lame. I'll never buy another Wusthof again.

Great knife but not as robust as their knives of old.
It's a great knife but it isn't as strong as the old Wustof knives I've used before. It arrived very sharp. It's very easy to handle and does a good job at slicing and cutting. However, it felt a little fragile in my hand. One review mentioned how their knife cracked and broke while they were using it, and I felt afraid that if I used it like I did when I was a professional cook, it also might break. I expected something stronger than what I got for 200 bucks.

It’s Wusthof.
It’s more how you treat your tools than how they start out. Treat this knife badly: it’ll be a bad knife. Anyway, you get what you expect from an almost $200 knife: great construction, good aesthetics, good brand recognition. If you’re just getting into cooking, try America’s Test Kitchen for product recommendations.
