Shivpiin Proguard Pets Softie Cat Muzzle (Small, Orange)

One of my rabbits, Squiggles, is more high strung than my other bunnies. I got her from a inexperienced 4H breeder who I think was still learning about breeding for temperament. She loves to be petted but will sometimes nip hard while I'm holding her. It will just come out the the blue. I put her on the Sherwood rabbit pellets because I heard it can make rabbits nicer as well as healthier and it helped a lot but she still bit sometimes. (Seriously I swear by Sherwood pellets and following their diet plan for both a rabbit's physical health and temperament, that stuff is bunny miracle food.)Anyway, back to the muzzle: I originally got this just because it keeps her teeth away from me as purely a muzzle. But then I found out it really calmed her down and made her happy. She does her happy breathing and rabbit 'chewing' (it is like a cat's purring, but by grinding their teeth gently) that rabbits do when they are content. I also bought a net muzzle but she wasn't as calm all the time and would chew it. She doesn't chew this one. She doesn't try to take it off.So this was a pleasant surprise that it solved the biting problem simply by calming her down and making her happy and secure more than just the barrier between my skin and her teeth. It seems to have a neurological effect on her that decreases her anxiety and made her happy. Maybe because she can't see, maybe the gentle pressure on her head, or both. My husband is happy to hold her now because she longer bites. Ever. We're all one big happy family. She lets me put this on her without a struggle and sometimes even sticks her face right into it. She gets excited in a good way when I break this out 'cause she knows it's petting time. I'm buying another one as a back up. Even though it is designed for cats, this fits behind her big bunny ears just fine. I bought the small, she's around 5 lbs, Holland Lop. She also looks kind of ridiculous, which, frankly, is part of the charm. ~Shay

Lucy was a PIA trying to cut her nails. Even the Vet hard a hard time and told us they wouldn't do it anymore unless we sedated her first which we refused to do.As a last resort we bought this and it was like magic when we put it on her. It calmed her down and we were able to do all of her nails with no fighting or squirming.

I've only used this once so I can't comment on it's durability, but it was sturdy enough to do the job. Getting hold of my mother's cat to get the thing on her was the hardest part. As soon as it was in place, she calmed down, probably because she was so disoriented. This muzzle/mask made it possible for me to trim her claws without getting bitten & shredded. This is truly a godsend!

Purchased this for my cat, Evil Kitty. She is a viscous, 16 year old, diabetic cat, that is difficult to groom. It works well, protecting me from getting bitten and scratched, and she appears to stay calm for a short period when it is on her. I have found it helpful when I have to test her blood glucose levels. I recommend this item.

Used this on fussy long fur cat to trim his fur. Successful and hilarious. He sat still, confused but could breathe fine. I was all "Can't bite me now, mf!" Plus, I got to use all my Silence of the Lambs quotes because he looked like a furry little Hannibal Lecter.Point: Me.

They have discontinued the hard plastic black one with the strings and this is the only alternative. It is unsafe and a cat can bite you. Also the Velcro becomes full of hair and Unusable. Once it becomes full of hair a cat can remove it quickly and bite you. Product help keep the cat more still during their hair trim. So it did help make it better overall.
