BLACK DIAMONDAstro 250 Headlamp, Graphite

I liked this headlamp because you push the button, it turns on. No cycling through useless features, I don't want a bunch of modes. I want on/off. The amount of light and field of view is impressive and taught me you don't need mega-lumens to get a really good headlamp. Thank you Black Diamond.

I purchased this headlamp for a backpacking trip where every ounce counts. Both amazon and black diamond claim this weighs 1.9 ounces with batteries but after weighing on my scale I saw that it was 2.9 ounces (82g). I can't return the item because I'm leaving in two days. I don't understand how outdoor equipment manufacturers can be so far off when they know how important weight is to their customers... hikers, backpackers and rock climbers.

I think this might be the first product review I have written, even though I have probably ordered about 1,000 products on Amazon over the years.This headlamp is perfect. Very adjustable, very comfortable, and also just the right amount of options without feeling like you have to be an engineer to use it.I got the red one so that I can spot it quickly when I don't have a lamp on, but I'm sure all of the color options are great.The dimming feature is so good and intuitive. It can go from blast out to candle light levels.The strobe is a great feature, especially in emergencies.I originally got this for solo tent camping, but I have found that it also useful for reading books in the dark by the beach or shooting sling shots at midnight.So far this is one of my most favorite Amazon purchases.

I'm so pleased with this light. I've wasted time and money on several different brands over the years while working my way towards this one.I use a headlamp daily for outdoor chores after dark, some of which are a bit distant from the house, and in every kind of weather. Dependability is key, especially for safety. I have that and more with this unit.Among its great yet simplified features, my favorite is the range and intensity of the dimable light. As long as I depress the switch, the light smoothly dims until I reach the level I want, and then release the button. Sure beats clicking through hi, med and low. Very lightweight on my forehead too. Why oh why didn't I buy Black Diamond years ago?!

I don't know how I lived without this!! A headlamp like this is very useful when working in a darkened area. But the best thing about this particular model is that it has a memory. It will always return to the brightness setting you last used unless you hold the button down longer. No clicking five times to get to your setting! Easy. Convenient. Friendly. Just what you want!!

I already have several head lamps that I keep in various places for various uses, and this one is absolutely the best! Bright, lightweight, long battery life, and most of all comfortable and easy to operate (basic operations, not a bunch of different colored strobe lights, etc.).

I use this kayaking, when I am returning to the take out point after dark. Incredibly bright, improved design over my older black diamond headlamps. Button is easier to find- bigger and has texture. Battery compartment has much more secure mechanism for opening and closing.

I went small with the Astro 250 and for $19.95 and am amazed at how bright and functional it is. It is light weight with a comfortable strap and more than adequate for home, camp, biking, auto repair and wherever you might need it ! Next I'm upgrading to a more powerful version though for my present needs this is perfect.

十分にコンパクトサイズの部類に入ると思うがこのサイズでも「電池駆動方式」なのがＧＯＯＤ！最近はこのサイズ感の製品はほぼバッテリー式なのでかなり貴重な存在なんですが実は型番的にみる「新機種」類は全てバッテリー式に変更になりました。（とても残念でならない）このメーカーは過酷環境下を想定した登山用品を多く取り揃えるアウトドアのトップメーカー。そんなメーカーがリチウムイオンバッテリーの構造上の弱点を知らないはずもない。ご存知のリチウムイオンバッテリーは低温下では触媒が反応せず、症状としてはローバッテリー状態になってしまう欠点がある。にも関わらず知っているはずの登山メーカーがこんな製品を送り出して良いのだろうか？公報の方に是非ともインタビューしてみたい。登山用品はかなり寒冷地や過酷環境を意識したそんなラインナップなのに登山中のどのタイミングで触媒反応が途絶えるかもしれない製品をさも平然と販売している神経は正直理解に苦しむ。批判はここまでとして「ＡＳＴＲＯ ２５０」の良かった点は以下の通り。（１）軽量でコンパクトサイズ（２）電池駆動方式（３）明るさを無段階で調光出来る（４）好みの明るさを電源のオフ後も記憶しているこの価格帯の製品でこれを導入してくるところがこのメーカーらしくて私は好感が持てました。あまりにも気に入ったのですぐさま「２台目を購入」してしまったくらいです。。。お仕事でも使っていると電池の持ちを少しでも伸ばしたくなる時もありますがその時は本体のボタンを長押しして少し調光させておけばその分だけ電池の持ちを伸ばす事が可能です。この手の製品を趣味とお仕事の両方で長年使ってきましたが正直これ以上の機能はいらないと感じるけどおそらく無くなり次第、終了になると思うと非常に残念でならない予備でもう１台買っておこうと思う。。。今なら。。。こちらもオススメです。「スポット３５０ - BD81300(350ルーメン)」こちらはほぼ同じ仕様ですが更に明るく防水性能もＩＰＸ８を達成していて電池残量も確認出来るモデルもです。（結局後日、他店で購入してしまいました。）

個人的に好きな見た目でとにかく軽くスイッチ部も使い勝手よくとても満足の商品です😊

レッドランプはありません。電球は一灯です。単4三本必要、充電タイプだったらよかったんだけど。
