Beautiful jazz lines on tap
Lovely phrases to learn and add to your repertoire. No theory, just language…so make sure you know what you’re getting first. Not for those starting from scratch in jazz and/or music theory. You’ll need a bit of major scale and basic theory knowledge in order to help remember and conceptualise the phrases…and of course in order to transpose to different keys.I have both the beginner and advanced books. The advanced lines are often flashier and more complex but not necessarily “better”. Often, depending on the musical context, the simpler lines in book 1 may actually be preferable. So you need both volumes!

Great short-cut to jazz soloing.
Great book, and exactly as advertised - minimal theory, just some great licks to incorporate into your soloing. I'd personally like a *bit* more theory so I could get a better understanding of these licks but there's no question this is an amazing short-cut to some really nice lines, and there is a broad outline at the start of the chapters as to why these licks fit these chord progressions which I'm sure will help in devising my own solos. Once you've got them in your fingers it's easy enough to start breaking them up, blending them together, and incorporating phrases in to your soloing. Would definitely recommend, and I'll be purchasing more from this series.
