Excellent reference to read the Bible in its entirety
I found out about this version when reading a book that suggested it as a resource for reading The Bible. The book is idea for reading the Bible in its entirety or reading the individual Testaments. Given the chronological aspect of this version, reading individual books in the Bible is better suited for other versions. I purchased the print version and started reading it on January 1. I quickly felt that the print version was more cumbersome, and wished that I had not let some of the reviews of the kindle version sway me against it. I knew that I wanted to read this, so I ended up purchasing the kindle version. At that point, reading became much smoother. I ended up using both my kindle and the cloud reader to read through it (be sure to sync your kindle before you put it down, or you end up having to skip ahead in the cloud). The interesting thing is that once I switched from the print version to electronic, it was so much faster to read, that I ended up deciding that while I would read it every day, I would not let the dates on it determine my stopping point. Instead, I read until I felt that I'd reached a stopping point for the day. Some days, I had less time to read, and others I might read a month's work at one sitting. The end result was that I read the entire book in 96 days. I do not feel that the speed hampered my comprehension. I did skim over things like the measurements or the representatives of each of the tribes, but I absorbed the essence. The only real con I have with this version is that it might be pushing it to try to compress the readings into 365 days. Some of the readings were shorter, but some of the more complex readings were more than I might think would ordinarily fit in a single day. What I liked best about this was that it felt like I was receiving a mini sermon with each of the sections. I really appreciated the historical background in places, especially when it came to understanding the warfare of the time period. Other times, it helps that he refers to earlier or later parts of the Bible that help explain a section or to match prophecy, just as examples. If you want to start reading this book, do not feel that you have to wait until January 1 to begin reading. If your goal is to read it every day, then place a bookmark and be sure that you've read until the next section. I do recommend the electronic version. You can do as I did, and read it on your desktop or laptop in the amazon cloud reader, use a kindle, or use the kindle cloud app on your tablet or other device.

Great item.
Great way to read the Bible to make it show as the love story that it truly is. This isn't designed for in-depth study but for a big picture overview.

The best way to read through the whole Bible
I read through the whole Bible many times. I found this Bible to be the absolute best if your goal is to read the whole Bible in a given period. I usually do it in 60-90 days. This has two pictures that other works do not have. First it is not really a Bible. Instead it is verses and books of the Bible reorganized. This reorganization is mostly chronological. Thus, the story of the Bible is told and the order that things occur. There quibbles with some of the choices that the author/editor made. Such difficulties are inevitable where there is no consensus as to the timing of certain events. The overall effect is entirely positive. For example the prophecies of Jeremiah and the Pauline letters are put in an appropriate context with the narrative portions of the Bible.Their other organizational changes too. For example, the laws of Leviticus and Deuteronomy, Proverbs and Psalms are put in categories. This is very helpful. Mr. Smith also includes useful, quite conservative, commentary on the Bible throughout. The question one might ask is how is this any better than the free chronological Bible reading list you can get online or from any other sources? This book, unlike the chronological reading lists, collapses duplicate passages in books of the Bible. Much of Leviticus in Deuteronomy the same. The same goes for parts of Kings and Chronicles and much of the synoptic Gospels (Matthew Mark, Luke and John). It's not just that the volume of reading it's cut down it also eliminates some of the most boring aspects of reading the whole Bible β reading duplicate passages. Have recommended this book to scores of people and I have yet have anyone make a negative comment. Most people find it's the first time they been able to get to the whole Bible in their life.In closing I should mention that the book is definitely written from a Protestant point of view. Part of the Catholic Bible β the Apocrypha β Is omitted. Mr. Smith includes a summary description of those portions of the Catholic Bible in one chapter. I think his explanation for their omission is fair and evenhanded but a Catholic might feel differently.

Amazing journey into a book I didn't know existed!
Or, at least I didn't know existed in this way. Everybody has a Bible, right? I know that's an exaggeration, but it is accessible to anybody even with the click of a keyboard. But the story, the unbroken narrative, the grand purpose of this book never seems accessible to those reading it. The different books, authors, or timeframe can seem so confused the point of it all gets lost among the volume of information. Finally, here is a solid effort to retrace the original steps of the authors through their own territories, offering insights that clarify setting and highlight the big picture so readers can understand the significance of what is happening. After reading the Bible in this format, I can appreciate the lessons that are taught so much more than before. I can say "I get it now" in ways I didn't then. I'm thankful for that opportunity, to meet the Lord Jesus as the great Master, the true Alpha and Omega, of this grand story.

very beneficial reading
Since I'm not a theologian, I had a lot of things wrong in my head, even though I had read the Bible at least five or six times before I came across this one. For example, I always thought that the Israelites were in captivity in Babylon twice because the late prophets in the Bible predate the earlier ones, and because the books of Nehemiah and Ezra are near the end of the Old Testament. I was able to correct all of these misconceptions with this Bible, and I also gained a lot of knowledge from it!

Excellent Bible but delivery is terrible
Their carrier sits in their office and calls the customer. I live in the country and rely on deliveries for nearly everything. Everyone comes out and hands me my package. Not them. Three times they have sent it back to the warehouse claiming I was not home, none of which is true. It has been a month and I still do not have it. The Bible itself is outstanding, but I still do not have it.

The Bible structure is totally revolutionary. Awesome. Love it big
The Bible structure is totally revolutionary. Awesome. Love it big.One thing not so cool...is about the date setting...it could have been better to have Day 1, Day 2 etc, instead of Jan 1st...so that whenever you buy it you just follow through on a personal reading π π journey for 365 days.I definitely recommend it. Like David Pawson said it's a very good Bible experience. πThanks for making it.God bless you Lagard Smith ππΌ β€A great gift π to offer. π

Very useful
This book is intended for anyone who wants to read through the bible. It has daily reading sections and discusses the readings for each day. Very good. In addition it describes the topics/subjects for each days reading which tells you what each daily reading is about. Very handy.
