Changed my rating to 5 stars. This screen held up to the extreme heat in the summer. I didn't take it off in the (first) winter (which I should have), and it withstood the brutal wind and cold. It's still in great shape. I'm ordering a couple more. If you want privacy, it will give you that, as well as blocking the sun. The privacy is OK for the sides of the house, but I'd still prefer a more transparent shade for the water view, since I don't want to block that. If you're not worried about blocking the view, this is perfect--it's attractive, and durable.. Wish someone would make one of these to be more like the drop-screens that you can mostly see through.I'm over the non-transparency factor. I decided I like the privacy. My main purpose for ordering these is to block the sun. I have put shades and awnings up all over my decks, and it has made them much cooler, and we are able to use the decks more now. These screens are pretty, and they add some privacy. They hold up amazingly with the elements, and are fade resistant. I am ordering another one this year, I have 4 of them already. This is a good product and well-priced. I recommend you buy extra zip ties, get long ones, and personally, white goes better with these than black.Original Review:I have greatly improved the quality of my deck in the past few years by adding a retractable awning, and two drop-down screens. This added shade keeps my deck so much cooler and usable in the summer. However, recently I decided that I'd like to increase the shade even more on my deck by adding a screen to the railing. This one matches the colors of my siding and existing awning nicely, and I do like the looks of it. However, I guess I"m just a little too spoiled by my drop down screens which block the sun and give privacy while still allowing me to enjoy my lovely view. That's what I want for my balcony screen, and this one, while pretty, blocks my view almost entirely. Some advice when hanging: Pull as taut on the top as possible without stretching too much, that way it won't sag in-between grommets. I didn't do this in a few places at first, so I had to cut a couple of zip ties off and then pull a bit tighter, which made the shade look much better. Don't over-pull or fabric seems like it could rip in a strong wind. Seems relatively sturdy, but I'd make it taut but not overly tight.I'm attaching some photos to show how it blocks the view, as opposed to my drop shades. This may not bother you, but at least you can see the difference, and what it looks like hung.Pros:1. Attractive, nice colors2. Comes with zip ties as well as rope, is relatively easy to hang.3. Blocks the sun pretty well4. Good if you want privacy5. Price is reasonable, can't complain6. Arrives quickly--fast shipping7. Overall quality of the fabric is about a 7 out of 10 in my opinionCons:1. Blocks the view, so if you have a lovely view, this may be a deterrent2. Zip ties would be nicer if they matched the fabric better rather than being black, still other companies don't even provide the zip ties, so at least you get some.3. Exactly enough zip ties are provided, so if you mess up on placement at all and have to cut any of them, you'll have to find something else to tie a couple of them.

This product works great if your trying to get privacy on your deck while reading, or catching some rays. I bought this product to hand on the railings of my deck, which I did. I have a very open two tear deck and wanted to sit on my deck in private. I found these easy to install and durable. I interwoven the material in between every 4-5 the ballast on the railing to improve durability and security during a wind storm, and it worked great. It worked as I was hoping, gave me some privacy, and is ready to be used again during the upcoming summer.

It was very easy to put up. The color is neu tall, which I expected. It's holding up pretty well in weather conditions.

Item is exactly as described and as i expected. Appreciate that it arrived quickly. Quality is excellent. Far superior quality in comparison to the bulk cut-to-size screen at a local store. Seams, grommets etc all finished very well. Provides privacy, excellent shade and allows air flow. Due to the amount and strength of breeze we receive daily, I decided to secure it with inexpensive clear zip ties instead of the included generous length of rope. Gives our balcony a nice, clean look. The color and design actually brightens, elongates and makes the balcony appear larger which I appreciate. I read a comment about the products wear over time in the sun, which was a concern, but now seeing the quality first hand, I'm confident it will deliver and stand up well to our daily (HI) sun, wind and rains relative to (and possibly exceeding) the money spent. Wish we ordered this sooner!05.17 UPDATE - 2YRS SINCE PURCHASE: Product is still in excl shape. Despite the elements (daily sun, strong winds, heavy rains), no signs of brittleness, shedding or tearing to date. As I had hoped, this product is far exceeding my expectations re: wear for the money spent. Still looking & performing great.06.19 UPDATE - 4YRS SINCE PURCHASE: Product continues to look great & serve us well. Some signs of rust on grommets, but I do live near the ocean; regardless, there are no tears, & all grommets remain in tact . The only thing I have had to do from time to time is replace an inexpensive clear zip tie here or there if it wears down & snaps due to prolonged sun exposure &/or exceptionally strong winds. With construction going on nearby, I also appreciate its easy clean factor; I simply hose it down periodically to release dust/dirt. I decided to purchase another to use occasionally as an angled awning, this time using simple mini bungee cords for quick & easy set-up/take down.

Began installing the screen with the provided zip ties and before I could finish, the grommets were ripping out of the fabric. This is just from installing there was no wind. The product is not good for its intended use of providing privacy on a deck. Maybe it is good for something else. Tried to contact the vendor and they did not understand the issue - they kept wanting to send new zip ties but that is not the issue. The fabric and grommets are too weak.

Too soon to tell if the product is sturdy. We’ll see how it holds up under the weather.

The media could not be loaded.  This made such a huge difference with our pool! It looks so refreshed! So easy to install and if you want to put away for the winter it’s easy to take down and reinstall for the summer months. Adds nice privacy.

Very challenging to hang up. The strings holding the canvas to the patio railing looks tacky. After about 3 weeks of use, canvas started to sag. I didn't purchase this item to constantly have to fix it. It is great for privacy, but it is not appealing to the eye. The colors are really dull.
