The Bulldog Hardware 11589 Peg Hook Accessory Kit

Purchased three of these Bulldog Peg Hook Accessory kits for the large pegboard system in my woodworking shop. Nice assortment of moderate quality metal pegs, but nearly all of the plastic pieces (bins & jars) either didn't arrive or arrived broken. One box had no bins or jars inside, while two jars and three bins had broken hooks. The single remaining bin was broken down the side as well.Would be a bit more upset, of course, had I actually planned to use those plastic pieces. However, I purchased this set for the metal hooks, with the bins and jars only perhaps used. Instead, I have a good number of chrome-plated metal bins and shelves (purchased from a store going out of business some years ago) which are considerably more sturdy and better looking as well.The metal hooks in this kit will support reasonably moderate weight. For example, three standard straight hooks (unbraced) will comfortably support a large #7 smooth plane with a 22-inch cast iron base (roughly 9-lbs overall).I use "Lehigh Peg Locks," sold on this Amazon.com website, to hold the metal hooks in place on the pegboard. Modified those peg locks to fit more tightly by slightly melting the outside joint (cigarette lighter or similar) and bending the arms inward at a more acute angle. The modified peg locks secure the metal hooks quite well.

After two years of living in my house, I finally decided to purchase some peg hooks for the garage. Not being able to find a great assortment at the local home improvement stores, I took to Amazon to find what I was looking for. This accessory kit had everything I wanted.Pros:- Great assortment of hooksCons:- The two red plastic bins and jars are very small and have a hard time hooking straight on the pegboard. If you like the idea of the jars/bins, I would buy some better ones separately from this kit.

The plastic parts are pretty cheap and likely won't last, but the metal parts are just what I was looking for and cheaper than the name brands. In the end, I'd buy it again.

I really like the Bulldog Hardware plastic pegboards that I ordered but I'm not happy with this accessory kit at all.Every pegboard kit I've bought in the past (at a hardware store) came with a little bag of plastic peg locks which help to secure the hooks and other accessories to the board. This kit didn't include those so all of my hooks sway and jingle when I place or remove a tool. Sometimes the hook pulls away with the tool then falls to the floor.The screw-top jars are completely useless. Mine do not attach to the board securely enough to screw or unscrew them without pulling the jar off the board, lid and all. One of the lids is a mis-cast and doesn't thread with the jar at all. They're so awful and cheaply made that they ought not bother including them in the kit. They're an embarrassment.The square parts bins are OK but they are LIGHT DUTY at best. The prongs that attach them to the pegboard are short and made of thin, weak plastic. For this reason, it doesn't take much downward force (ie, weight) to pop them right out of the board.Looks like I have to make that trip to the brick-and-mortar hardware store that I was trying to avoid. I need to buy a one dollar bag of peg locks to make this kit work reliably. Hopefully Bulldog Hardware will decide to include peg locks in the future. It's certainly not a cost issue, it's a making sure your customers have everything they need issue. Looks like they forgot about us this time.

I purchased a house which had Peg board all along the wall in the garage. This kit work great with it. Helped me organize all of my tools and the hooks are durable enough to hold up heavy items (i.e. sledge hammer and weed wacker). Great product for a great price.

I like this, I just have a 4 x 4 foot peg board I bought on sale and this kit made my weird space a super organized sweet spot for 15 dollars!The plastic parts are super cheapo. Don't expect to actually use them and have them last...

Bought this to mount tools on a wall control galvanized aluminum pegboard. It's an OK kit but don't expect much.Pros:Lots of stuff for little moneyCons:Hardware is not very strong, only for light weight toolsthe plastic parts will probably not last longBiggest con: The hooks do not secure themselves in any way to the board. Most of time, when I remove a tool the hook will come off as well and fall on the floor. then you have to remember where it was.I will not get this kit again (moot point since I already got 3)

These are what you would expect -- metal components fora peg board. I like the mix of components, hooks, holders for screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, etc. It's hard to screw that up, right? What takes away 2 stars is that the plastic components are cheap crap. The plastic jars barely screw into their mounted lids because the threads are so poor. One of the plastic bins was broken and I had to screw it to the board.Summary: don't buy this kit for the plastic components.
