Potty Time Chimes are bells that you hang from your door knob to assist in potty training your puppy. Chimes includes DVD that is less than 10 minutes long which goes over potty training using both the crate and Potty Time Chimes together. Perfect to sit down and watch as a family so that everyone is potty training the puppy the same way so that it gets potty trained that much quicker. Potty Time Chimes are adjustable so they will work for all puppies/dogs, small breed to large breed. Potty Time Chimes helps prevent scratching at the door and helps your puppy/dog communicate with you to let you know that they need to go outside to go potty.

Teach your dog to ring the bell to go outside
I used this to teach my dog to tell me when he needed to go out so that he wouldn't learn to bark instead. I didn't want my dog to scratch on the door or bark to tell me he wanted to go out, so I started early with him to touch the bell with his nose to indicate he wanted to go out. I have one at the back door, one at the top of the stairs, and one on my desk at work (he is a service dog). I trained him to "touch" to indicate he needs to go. Since he already had a schedule to go out at 11, 2, 5, 8, and 10pm, I jsut made him touch it at those times that I was going to take him anyway. He got used to touching before the door would open. Now, if he needs to go and it isn't a regularly scheduled time, he will touch the bell. I hear the sound, and I will let him out (as will my family members). I did this with my prior dogs too, but the bell I had before was a heavy sleigh bell which was just too big for a papillon. This is light enough for any sized dog to use.

Buy early on to start good habits with your puppy
So...this looks nice on the door. It's the most stylish dog toy or trainer we own. My mom was able to get her dog to use this toy without a problem but my Shih Tzu puppy isn't biting. That being said, we did introduce this into her routine later in age (5 months) and I would recommend buying this WITH your puppy to start good habits early on.While our pup isn't using this as intended, she has connected the sound of the door opening with potty time -- So it is helpful some.

It actually works!!
I was skeptical about this product, but was willing to try anything with our new puppy. We watched the DVD the night before we picked him up and started using it from day 1.Maverick was only 8 weeks old when we brought him home - of course he had some accidents at first, but I expected that! By day 3-4, Mav was ringing the bell on his own to go outside. From days 5-12ish, he maybe only had 1 accident inside per day, and it was usually because we weren't watching him closely enough to read the signs that he needed to go.We're now on day 17, Mav is just over 10 weeks old, and he hasn't had an accident inside for 5 days. He consistently rings the bell when he needs to go potty, we let him out, and he goes immediately.I'm amazed that it took less than 2 weeks to completely house train such a little puppy - it has made such a huge difference.I can't recommend this product highly enough.Good Luck!

Has saved my carpet...
Was easy to teach my dog to use. Works great. ONly problem with it is that the clip slips down - will not stay where it is put so I just leave it at the bottom which works but would have liked it a bit higher up.

Clever Potty Training Solution
I wish I had thought of the potty bells myself. What a great idea to help potty-train a dog. However, my puppy is not getting the hang of them. She thinks it's a toy to play with - and the ribbon isn't holding up well against her sharp little teeth. I'm hoping the potty bells stay in one piece long enough for her to get the revelation of what they're for. Sure would make my life easier. A friend of mine taught her dog to use them, and she loves them.

My dog really caught onto this and is a great tool for house training
My dog really caught onto this and is a great tool for house training. She learned in less than a week and uses it daily. My only negative is that the ribbon is thin and doesn't stay at the adjusted level. It just hangs down to the floor.

very helpful potty training tool
My goldendoodle was 4 1/2 months old when I got the bell. After just a few days of ringing the bell every time we went out my dog started ringing the bell. It really helped with our training. He had no more accidents after we got it. Great product!

Great idea, poor quality
The snap broke already and we haven't even taught the dog to use it. Also, the adjustment doodad does not lock into place, so it keeps working its way down to the floor. I just tied the top part into a knot to bypass the snap, but that means the little bow is gone and it looks a little tacky. I will have to find a way to lock the adjuster into position. Probably should send it back, but it's easier just to "fix" it, I think. If it were $5 I might give it 2 or 3 stars, but for $20 it should last at least long enough to get the dog trained. Looked nice in the package!
