Nice compact Bluetooth speaker
I like this speaker. It is small, but feels solid and well built, and is hefty for such a small device. I like the looks of it, and it has a nice rubberized feel to it in the hand. The power button is the only button you will find on this device, and that suits me fine. Simple and to the point.Good sound for the size. However, there is no volume control on the speaker, so you have to use your phone or tablet for that. Also, it does not get too loud, which is actually probably good, because it tends to distort a bit at higher volumes (this is pretty common with small Bluetooth speakers though). That said, sound quality as I said is fairly good, although I must say, I use it mostly for listening to podcasts and audiobooks while doing chores in the house, and I am very pleased with the sound clarity and quality overall when used for that purpose.Pairing was super easy, and the battery seems to last for a decent amount of time. The speakerphone feature is nice, but the placement of the microphone means that the person on the other side has trouble hearing me, unless I lift the speaker to my face, which is kind of annoying. Still, it can be a useful feature, and I'm glad it was included in such a small speaker.Overall, it is a decent speaker, just don't expect too much power or super sound out of it. For what it is and how I use it, it really fits the bill, and I am very happy with it.

Better than expected, but useful as can be.
Not as loud as I had hoped, of course; but louder than expected.Playing music-- it is about like a typical clock-radio as far as volume and quality goes.Kind of intuitive to set up and use, although I have not tried using it for phone calls.I thought it might be suitable for tossing in my pre-Bluetooth car's cup-holder and connecting to my iPad for Waze app directions and FaceTime calls-- it is. It is really good at that. Sharing a video with others on my iPad is now possible because the others can hear.Early review said something about weak and easily broken connectors on the back, but I have not found that to be the case. Like the Moonstone, also by Lepow, it seems to be quite sturdy and functional. While I do occasional take it with me, it seems to have settled in as a semi-permanent speaker for my laptop which also seems to stay at my desk. The small footprint is nice.My (Dell) lap-top (with no Bluetooth) speakers, at full volume, are ridiculously under-powered, and wired headsets are confining. So, now, instead of 100% volume, the wired-in Modre does just fine with my laptop's volume set between 9% and 12%.So with that set-up, it is sweet to unplug it and hear it announce within a second or two that automatically connected to my iPad.

This little thing rocks
I must admit that I was very skeptical about the sound that could come out of something that is smaller than an 8 oz soda can. I am very impressed. You can hear all the highs and lows. It fills a room with sound as well as our small Sony microsystem and with cleaner sound. The other surprising thing is the battery life. On our first charge we got over 9 hours of use at less than 50% volume. I had no problem pairing with an iPhone 5s. We cannot get it to pair with our iPod nano seventh generation. This appears to be a common problem on web review. It does not seem to be problem coming from the speaker but rather the iPod. It says "pairing" so the Modre is aware the iPod is there. It finally gives up after a couple minutes. It works over the corded connection without issue. I use the privacy mode to take phone calls as it does add more background noise to the other end of the connection. Range is over 25' without fail. Even with a few walls in the way. It does pick up interference from our LED overhead lights when we dim them all the way but so does every radio device we own until we brighten them up enough. The acrylic cup is a neat packaging gimmick. The flat cords are also a plus. I use the iPhone charger cube to plug in the micro USB cord to charge it. If I accidentally break this one, I will order another that day.

Worked great first year; great customer service
UPDATE: Replacement Marsboy B3 given to me, and it's great. Review below refers to the LePow pictured here, and trading was consequently upped to 5 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This model worked great first year, and fairly loud for its small size. Neat that it has hidden microphone so you can use for speaker phone. Going into its 3rd year, the charging port is bad or perhaps the battery no longer will hold more than minimal charge (resulting in constant "battery low" warnings). If it were serviceable and could provide more service, I'd rank it higher, but I see no way to open it or replace a battery, or examine any port damage. I don't recall every dropping it or yanking on the cord.

Nice little gadget for your car!
This is exactly what I wanted. It's small, it's cute, it fits into my cupholder so I can listen to Spotify from my phone while I drive. It it a high end speaker with tons of bass? Of course not. it's about half the size of a Coke can, for heaven's sake. If you're picky about your sound, you probably wont be all that thrilled by this and should go buy something more expensive. But does it pick up your bluetooth from your phone and let you listen to Spotify while you drive? Yup, and I think it sounds just fine. Nice little $25 purchase and I may buy another one for my laptop. Plus, it's well made, fairly heavy, has a no-slip thingy on the bottom, and connects with your phone's bluetooth in just seconds. Oh! And the flat USB and MIC cords are nice too, and so is the cup it all comes in. I'm glad I bought this!
