PERRINSolid Shifter Bushing Compatible with Subaru WRX 2015 - 20

I installed a shift stop on my new 2018 WRX shortly after purchase; RESULTS! An immediate, affordable and easy to install mod. Four years & 40K miles later I noticed slop returning as the OEM shifter bush degraded. Perrin makes the perfect UPgrade. Bye-bye slop, hello firm, snappy shifter. The Perrin replacement should be OEM.

I know you can purchase a knock off of this item for a quarter of the price but I was willing to spend a few more bucks to ensure quality parts for my car. I have no idea which is better but I felt better buying this one.Instructions were pretty easy. Comes with everything you need out of the box. I jacked up my car, got under, replaced the part, sewed everything up, and got back out in under a half hour maybe. The hardest part for me was just trying to get the old one off but eventually I got it. I’m not even very handy, so if I can do it with appropriate tools so can you.When I went for a test drive I definitely noticed that the shifts are a lot more concrete. You feel like when you’re pushing it around that it’s actually dedicated to following through instead of getting that rubbery feeling. Im excited to get my stop shifter next.

Install was easy if you are handy with some hand tools and have jacks and jackstands. I put the bushing onto the pin first instead of the cable. And then put the cable onto the bushing. Had some small issues with the cable sitting all the way flush at first but with some wiggling, I was finally able to get it on and locked down with the washer and cotter pin.After putting it on, I was rowing through my gears with my car off. At first, I did not feel any difference. In fact I was quite disappointed.I cleaned up and went out for a test drive. It was then, when I actually drove the car, I felt the difference. Its not night-and-day but shifter definitely does feel more solid when going into gear. It is a bit more confidence inspiring when rowing through gears quickly.I think for under $30, it is a decent upgrade. I will be pairing this with a boomba short throw shifter soon as well.

I cannot believe I went a whole year without buying this. I bought my 2020 WRX last November with 0 miles off the lot. I've been choosing to modify it tastefully and mildly until I run out of my warranty and I always heard how much of a game changer this piece was but for some reason never bought it. I ordered it and 2 days later it arrived and I took a good 20 minutes installing it. Most of that time was setting up jacks and stands and in reality it took maybe 3 minutes to swap out. Have been driving it for a few miles now and it feels so much better. Definitely recommend it and don't see why anyone should wait over a week after getting their car to swap this out.

The bushing arrived on time and was as described. The installation was very easy. My 2015 WRX has 22,00 miles on it. Before the new bushing the shifter felt clunky. It now feels much more precise. It wasn't a huge change, but I think it was well worth the money.

I made the mistake of not buying this with the Perrin shift stop. Don’t make the same mistake I did. I HIGHLY recommend this with the shift stop. Without it, I felt like there was some play still while I shifted. Afterward, there was no play!Install:I was fortunate enough to have a lift available, but without one it may be a challenge (still do able). I recommend following the SUBISPEED video on YouTube. I watched it twice & when it came to installation, I was done in 10mins. Biggest challenge you’ll face is getting the pin holding in the OEM bushing in & out.I also bought the Boomba short shifter, & all three (short shifter, shift stop, & bushing) is Amazing 🤌🏽

The install is super easy. I drove up on ramps and was under my car for about 10 minutes. Car is only a month old so existing rubber bushing is new. It takes away that inch of squishyness play when you are in a gear and then try to push the shifter even further into the same gear. It also makes changing gears feel a little tighter and notchier. Personal choice. I like it. Only shifter mod installed at this time. I had no play or slop in neutral and no play going into second, so no need for the perrin shifter stop at this time.
