Perfect just what we needed.
Love this Thinking Tree product! It didn't disappoint me. I bought #2 of these 1 for my upcoming 5th grader and my 8th grader. They are perfect and give the child a variety of activities to do each day. We plan on making this last all school year so we will be doing 1 page per day. There are pages with Title, author, ext favorite part, characters, setting ext. This page is great for retelling nonfiction books. There are also games these will act as a brain game before my children do their reading to awaken the brain. Then there are other pages with word building like vocabulary. There is also a page that has 4 blank notebook looking images that the child can read and draw and or write anything they read about. There are a lot more pages then I mentioned in the journal. My boys are both so excited to start Funschooling and using this.

Great for ALL ages!
I bought the PDF version of this journal from the Fun-schooling web site because my kids (3, 7, 11, 15) were all SO excited for it! It’s a great journal that can truly work for all ages. My youngest currently loves the various Minecraft mazes and coloring pages that are included and I know that she’ll eventually enjoy using the journal to document her reading. There are also plenty of pages to document books read and users can record relevant information, write reviews, and even share their feelings about the book they’re reading. The attached photo shows a page that my 7 year old beginner reader completed. She will need some help completing the pages, but my older kids can complete the pages independently. My 15 year old is even excited about using this journal to document the reading she does this year. This journal is a great addition to any homeschool curriculum. In addition, it could serve as a supplement for students attending virtual or physical school in order to help them keep track of their daily reading homework.

Turned groans into Yays!
I told my son I got him a reading journal so we could track his reading & comprehension better. He groaned loudly, slouched & rolled his eyes at the same time. Then I showed him exactly what journal I was talking about (I purchased the pdf book from the website so I could print at home for my other son too). When I finally got him to look up & see what was on my computer screen, he went from dejected to excited! It's amazing how having a Minecraft themed journal can change his outlook. I love how the pages are guided so he can express how he liked (or didn't like) a book without being overwhelmed by having to write a whole book report. Plus there's extra mazes, coloring pages, and short activities. But what I love most is he's excited to use it. I'll have to update my review later to see how long his enthusiasm lasts.

We love Fun-Schooling Journals!
Fun-Schooling journals by Thinking Tree are so great! My kids are more excited to start school. This Reading time journal is great for them to keep track of the books they read as well as work on Spelling and vocabulary. Fun-schooling journals really do help bring fun back into learning and are great for helping give my kids freedom to follow their interests!

Fun new reading time journal!
Love this journal! We are going to use this to log our reading for the year. The spelling and vocabulary pages are a perfect way to practice and learn in a super fun way! This is one we will probably use every year.
