Whats not to love?
Ok, so if your kid loves any of the Thomas characters whats not to love about this? Batteries lasted longer then I would of expected and it is quicker then expected. My only complaint at all is that I wish the thing had a volume control - Off - Low - High. Man that little speaker is LOUD!Other then that this has been kid tested and approved.Understand that this is not intended for the WOODEN or smaller Take-Along tracks, only the TRACKMASTER (plastic) tracks.

It's works, but battery changing is a pain
It's Thomas the Train, and this newer version has more speed options than the original. The only annoying thing is the batteries. Like the old one, you open the top door on the cab behind the engine. Put 2 batteries in, and nothing happens. After messing with it, found that the top of the engine must be removed, and a 3rd battery installs there. Not very user friendly for that part.The toy does work, and my boys like it.

fun!
Bought the original thomas r/c trackmaster train for my kids and they loved it. This one is even better! train goes multiple speeds and they can use both trains simultaneously! Only problem is that the dang thing does not have an on/off switch like the thomas one has. It will blare out with train sounds ramdomly and without provocation. Removing the batteries seems to be the only solution.

Perfect addition to my Grandson's collection!
My 5 year old grandson loves trains...especially Thomas Trains! This year we decided to get him the remote control James Engine and he was thrilled. It has 3 speed levels and can even go into reverse. The train sounds are fantastic! So happy we bought this for him!

The wheels locks up !
He played with it a few times and I like it alot but it's not for me. He likes to lay down on the grown and get a close up view of his trains passing by. This one wheels locks up so you can't push it around.

Just as expected - only faster!!
This was exactly what my son wanted for his birthday! It runs much faster than his other TrackMaster trains, and the sounds and sayings are cute. Seemed pricey, but the smile on his face as he plays with it daily is worth it. :)

Thomas the Train
Very nice clean item, very pleased. Whoever made this Thoms the Train, really made a wonderful item. For smaller children, it is the ideal train, no worry about electricity etc. safe and sooooooooo much fun!!! There is so much you can add to it and that is wonderful!! Ellen Hassinger

My 5-year and 7-year old boys love it
The sound effects from the remote controller give a wonderful controlling experience. Pros: Different sound effects for moving forward, backward and stopping. Cons: The train is too big for the "Water Tower Steam Set" from Tomy.
