Another fantastic book!
Chandra Ghosh Ippen creates wonderful stories on hard subjects. This book is a lovely story that expresses how a child can love and miss their mother due to a substance abuse/mental health issues. A simple story to help young children make meaning. I have this for my kindle and a paperback coming to go with the rest of Chandra’s book collection!

Helpful
Excellent help for kiddos that have inconsistent visits with bio-parents. Wonderful tool that helps to give words to some of the feelings that might have.

Normalizing tough topics
Children around the world are living this very reality, and this book will help families open the door to talking, sharing, wondering, and healing.

Perfect book to help young children and caregivers
This book is relatable for young children who don’t always have the language to express how they are separated from their parents. Mamas waves also helps caregivers to explain why a parent may not be around as often for the child. I highly recommend this book.

AMAZING
This book captures the challenges and complexities that young children and their family members manage around them when they have a parent or caregiver who is struggling. As always, another beautifully written story by Chandra that highlights the beauty of children having grown ups around them to help them feel and express their feelings with

Such a sensitively written book, it's a great therapeutic tool with children
As a child and family therapist, I found this book sensitively written to address so well the experiences for children when parents let them down due to drug and alcohol issues, mental health issues or other reasons. Particularly useful with children in alternative care. A useful therapeutic tool to help children feel understood and help open up discussion about their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
