Good quality part! DIY repair -- I have AirCon again!
When my heat pump stopped working, I tried to get a repair person. There wasn't anyone local available and the people from further away wanted $250 for a first visit just to find what's wrong. I just about choked!I figured, 'it's already broke' so it couldn't hurt to search the internet to see what's involved in fixing it.Turns out, these machines aren't that complicated and some of the fixes are pretty easy IF you're very careful and have some basic tools (which I do).I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and did what they said. Troubleshooting said the problem was likely the "starter capacitor".All I did was find the same one as I had before (easier said than done) but, once I did, I ordered it and had it shipped -- all with fingers crossed! It arrived on time. It was exactly what I'd ordered. I screwed up my courage and replaced the old one, as per the videos.BINGO!!! I HAVE AIR CONDITIONING AGAIN! 10 days running and I'm VERY happy. :))))** NOTE, "IF you're handy, and IF you're electrically inclined, this home repair is worth _considering_. DO YOUR RESEARCH!. If you're not either of those things, don't even bother -- hire a pro! This one can hurt you."

10 Yr Condenser Maintenance
One of the item replaced on my 10 year old 5ton TRANE AC condenser unit. I changed all the capacitors, motor, relay, and switches that is required for my TRANE...did it all myself, took a few hours but saved $$$. Bought all OEM parts, took lots of pictures to keep track of all electrical connections, and made sure circuit breakers and unit is off, looked at youtube tips on de-energizing all capacitors before touching them.
