Great Way to Play Old School Games Without Losing Any Pieces
I purchased Family Night 2 first but didn't particulary like "Picturica"and I never liked Jenga in the past, and Connect 4 reminds me of the game I hated the most growing up...Checkers. The "Operation" game was not like the original.I decided to purchase "Family Game Night" one and I was not disappointed. These games are like the originals and my family and friends really enjoyed playing them.Several of them had "customized" sections where you can add things and change game play."Battleship" plays just like the original minus the little plastic ships and with the Wii edition at least there are auditory and visuals when you sink the other player's ship!"Sorry" was a bit different from the version I played as a kid. We used dice rather than cards to move around from "Base" to "Home" and the directions were on the board, but it is great to play on screen and no parts to lose!"Sorry Sliders" is fun and uses the Wii remote and play seems like table "Shuffleboard."Yahtzee" was just like the the original and you don't have to look around for the dice!!!Finally, what caused me to rate this game a "4" is yet ANOTHER version of ....Connect 4!!!!!! Those Hasbro guys seem to be obsessed with THAT game.I had just glanced at a couple of reviews and the one kind of got to me. One parent stated, something like their kids ages six and eight played about 20 minutes and they had it!!! THAT is not the "Game's" fault. Many children have been brought up to never have learned "quiet time." Alot of them don't just want to play with dolls, unless they talk in two languages, Eat baby food and use real diapers, sing lots of songs, do addition and multiplication.........(you get my gist?) The have no wish ot concentrate on ANYTHING more than 10 minutes. I have a friend that is a teacher and she tells some very crazy things that happen in her classroom.I would not hesitate to buy "Family Night 1." (provided that your kids don't throw the Wii controller through the TV screen if they lose the game!!!

Meh...
This game is alright, especially if you really love the games that are on there. Some of it is a little hard to navigate, so I don't see myself playing with my mom. Unless I controlled the remote for her, but that's no fun for either of us. However, there are different ways you can play each game for different skill levels or number of people playing. Which is nice. Plus, you can change the settings in each game. And if I remember correctly you can also play a "House Rules" game, but I haven't tried it yet. I think the main reason why I like it is because you can play by yourself against the made up people in the game. I grew up an only child and this would've been perfect for me since I LOVE board games. I still really like it and will play every once in a while, but I'm sure they have more fun Wii games out there! While playing battleship I got a little dizzy because of the graphics. I'm hoping there's a setting to turn that off, but I haven't looked yet.Yahtzee is fun, but if you don't hit the right buttons you can lose the right numbers and there's no way to undo it. I have accidentally hit the "A" button instead of the "1" button which caused me to hit the "B" button which rolled the dice. Also, it's super easy to click on the wrong section and you can end up zeroing out something.Sliders is my FAVORITE game to play on here. It's easy to play and can be fun if you're playing with the right people. I like playing the Battle Boxes version or whatever it's called. Since it gives you different powers. It sure makes that game more fun.Connect 4 is still definitely for younger kids. I played it a lot when I was sick just because it didn't require much of anything, but it still kept my mind going. They have a power chip version which makes the game a little more interesting, but not much.I don't have much to say about Boggle since I've only played it once. But it was fun I suppose...I love Sorry, but I have only played the normal version a couple times. So it's almost like playing in real life.

Don't believe the bad reviews
I almost didn't buy this game due to the multiple poor reviews, but I am really glad I did. All the games work great except Sorry. Sorry works ok, but everyone can see your cards and it takes a little while to get the hang of it. My wife and I agree the board game is better as a board game. Connect 4, Yahtzee and Boggle are all great! We have played them a bunch. When my wife and I first got married we used to play board games a lot, but that fizzled out. Now we have been playing this a couple times a week for an hour or two at a time. We really love Boggle. I will never go back to the board game version. The people who complain that the games are too hard to play must have issues with all Wii games because they are all pretty easy to play and understand with the exception of Sorry. Battleship and Sorry sliders are both pretty good too. Overall it would be a 5 if Sorry was better. Definitely do not buy this if you are getting it specifically for Sorry; however, Boggle, Connect 4 and Yahtzee are all tops!

Fortunately, we were able to find a used one ...
We have played this game daily for years and as a result wore it out. Fortunately, we were able to find a used one in pristine condition at a good price on Amazon.ca. This game is suitable for all ages.
