My wife had been jonesing for a porch swing for a long time, so I finally got one for this past Christmas (2020). Instead of putting it on the porch, we have an A-frame stand which so far does a great job. I attached the springs to the A-frame and hung the swing from there. They provide enough "spring" that when you sit down, it doesn't just bottom out. It gives a bit making the experience a little better. I don't know how much difference it makes in the long run, but it seems good for now.To be sure, the springs are very sturdy. They will take the abuse even from us two overweight adults. It seems they will last at least as long as the swing itself. I wouldn't have known to consider them except that Amazon suggested them. In the end, I'm glad they did.
