Helenium autumnale are native to much of North America and have been grown in the Uk for well over 100 years. A superb late flowering, back of border plant. Masses of single, colourful flowers that extend the flowering period, when many other herbaceous plants are coming to an end. The Bishop is a beautiful Helenium, with striking bright yellow single flowers with an orange to brown central cone. Easy to grow in most locations. It is adivsable to support the stems in windy locations. Excellent in a mixed planting, or in groups. Can easily be grown in a pot or other container. Use a good quality compost and ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year. .

A small plant...
This was a very small plant when received and it didn’t grow very well Initially in spite of following the guide instructions. I bought 2 other plants at the very same time and they have grown as expected. So not too bad. It was really quite expensive for what I got. I’ve waited several months to review this simply to allow it time to grow.
