Once a marine, always a ... That's where I learned to clean an AR. I have tried a variety of products to clean out my AR's bores. None of them (Not even Hoppe get the job done alone. I can tell because when all is said and done I start running the swab-its through. That's when I find all the dirt, and powder that has been left behind. Start with a small package and try them out on whatever you consider a clean bore. If you are like me you will end up buying the large package because you will need that many swabs to really get the bore clean.

Product works ok, a bit flimsy and a little over priced for what it is. But untill someone comes up with a comparably product....

These can be reused as much as 2 - 3 times, depending on the amount of passes you have already made in you barrels. They can also be cleaned and dried for additional use. I use them from .22 cal rim fire, .223 REM, 243 cal., 6.5 Creedmoor & 30-30 cal.! Usually only one or two passes (I use Hoppes #9) will clean the barrels to a nice clean bright shine.

I don't like fumbling with patches; SWAB-ITS is simple and easy to use. I clean the used SWAB-ITS by soaking them in a small container with warm water and dishwater detergent. With a bit of rinsing, the SWAB-ITS come clean and ready for reuse.

Beats the heck out of using patches in a tight .22 rifle or handgun. Used to have heck of a time ramming patches down the barrel of my .22s. These swabs are a firm fit that cleans as well as wipes any excess oil from the barrel. No problem with fit or function. Great for cleaning and maintaining. Zee

Cost is a little bit higher than a conventional jag and patch. However, they work better. I have ordered more.

These did not fit 3 different rods that I currently own, including my original Army issued cleaning set. I then ordered a new cleaning kit, only to be disappointed once again. I’ve tried to contact the Swab-it’s customer service to see if they’ll send an adapter or rod that works…I’ll update this review as necessary based on their response.For now, do not waste your $$ on this product.

Broke off trying to insert
