Priscilla Parker, known better by "Quinn," just graduated high school and lives her life by the music on her iPod.On one fateful night, Quinn decides to call her favorite record label, Amalgam Records, and ask for an internship. Quinn is beyond surprised when someone answers the phone at 3 a.m. and tells Quinn that she can be an intern during the summer! After convincing her parents to let her go to Austin and stay with her "studious" cousin, Penny, for the summer, Quinn begins her journey of working for Amalgam and looking for her "supreme" boyfriend.Quinn has an idea of her perfect boyfriend, so she completely dismisses Russ, who lives next door to Penny. He's just too much of a Frat boy to be a cool boyfriend. But are Quinn's stereotypes about people getting in the way of her being able to make friends? How can she have the best summer ever if she can't stop making judgments about people the second she meets them? With crazy characters and lots of music-related chapters, LOVESTRUCK SUMMER is a great summertime read!Reviewed by: Angela S.

3.5 Stars
This was a really fun, if rather quick read. I liked the characters - Quinn was great as the central character - especially towards the end when she starts to realise that what we think we want is not always what we actually want. She and Russ have some great chemistry and I really enjoyed their scenes together. I also really liked Penny and Jade, and Miss Tiara was just so cute! I didn't like Sebastian though, but I'm not sure if I was supposed to.I had a good idea how the story was going to end, but there were also things that happened that took me by surprise. I loved the ending - really sweet! Goofy smile sweet!Overall a bit predictable but good fun, and let's just say that any book that has a cross dressing dog in it gets my vote!

Loved IT
Sunny Days, Late Nights and a vacation full of possibilities. Don't be fooled by the cover, Melissa Walker is no Rachel Hawthorne (although I did love Rachel when I was a teen) and this book is very appealing on many levels regardless of your age.Lovestruck summerThe best thing about Lovestruck Summer is Priscilla Queen, an eighteen-year-old hipster in jeans and soft tees, who uses multiple dyes to get just the right shade of messed-up blue in my blunt boy-length hair, which, if I left it alone, would be naturally blond.Queen lives with her family in North Carolina, the year before college she decides to spend her summer with her cousin Penny in Austin interning for Amalgam Records. Queen is really into indie music, kind of obsessed by it (something I can relate really well as I am really into it as well). This book is about a girl who has lots of prejudices (who doesn't) and is given a great chance to open her mind as she gets to know Penny and her sorority girlfriends but also, despite herself, finds herself attracted to Russ, the guy next door, who wears a giant brass belt buckle and is really into country music. This book mixes together a feisty snob heroine, a witty hot texan guy, sense of humor, friendship, music and summer heat. There are also a few memorable romantic scene that provide pure entertainment. As light as this read is I think it says something about those silly prejudices that we develop as young teen and honestly even today I am perfectly capable of discarding someone based on a giant brass belt buckle.Yup That's me. Oh and on poor music choice.Yet I like to be challenged.
