Gets the job done
The collar arrived and seems of good quality, but there a couple of glitches 1) there is no swivel to attach the leash to, just a plain ring2) the chain section has two rings and in the collar I received those rings are on backwards....the one with the red tab should have the swivel on it and it should be away from the prong side of the collar. The plain ring should be next to the dogs neck. Instead the red tab ring is next to the dogs neck and the plain ring is what I attach the leash to. The collar takes some getting used to putting on and off, but it gets better with practice. The results aren't quite as instant as when trainers demonstrate on YouTube, but it does the job. I can now walk my reactive GSD without her lunging at cars. Am I happy using a prong collar? Not really, but it allows me to get my rescued GSD safely along the road until we get to a trail where I can let her off leash.

Excellent collar with proper training
A very well made collar. I was initially hesitant about a prong collar, as I know many others are. However, with the help of an excellent humane trainer, who helps train the human as well as the dog, I find that this collar really helps in communication. My 80 lb dog remains up beat and happy while learning how to control unwanted behaviors (jumping on people, lunging and even leash reactivity). I know there are a lot of people out there that say this is a cruel tool and I'm sure it can be in the wrong hands. I strongly suggest a good trainer who truly knows and cares about dogs, who can train you on the proper use of this collar. After less than 2 weeks, I'm already able to pass more dogs than I had been during my walks, without a bunch of big blow ups; and my dog continues to smile during these walks (dog lovers know what I mean). Definitely recommend this collar.

High quality dog training tool
This is a sturdy pinch collar that does not choke your dog. It doesn't stab into their neck either. The steel is a heavier gauge than the cheap imitations, plus the ends are sanded down to remove any bursts that could injure your dog.The one-handed release is a necessary safety feature in case the dog ever gets caught up in anything. This is a great tool when training your dog.

My trainer strongly recommended this brand
My trainer strongly recommended this brand, said that it wouldn't stain the dogs fur. I love this collar. I was always against using a prong collar, and used a choker instead. I just lived with the unfavorable outcome. I used this collar with our new/used labrador (14 months old and 95 lbs.) and I can't believe what a difference it makes. I could walk him down the street on the first try with only a few corrections. Need to know and understand how the collar works and how to correct the dog (seek some professional help there). I can't thank you guys enough....we are now a team, and I am not afraid of walks anymore.

Careful where you buy
I bought one of these from Haute Dauge (sp?) and it was exactly as shown - stainless steel, no swivel. Perfect. I ordered again, and got one from International Coffee and Books (Haute Dauge didn't show up as a seller!). I am returning it - it has a swivel (swivels are eventual points of failure) and it is chrome plated! While chrome plating is OK, it should not cost what a stainless steel collar costs! Update: 101Outlets sent the correct collar, as shown. As shown, the collar gets 5 stars.
