So worth paying the extra money for a non phone based otoscope
The media could not be loaded. 4/5 simply due to the points below and hope software updates will happen in future. Now that I have been using this for a couple of weeks I am almost very satisfied with the product.Just to let people know my background was in Telecomms engineering with my last contract being in the testing of what is now contactless payment. So I am very detailed in my testing and evaluating of products I buy. It has taken me a couple of months to eventually decide to buy this otoscope over other otoscopes and I am very pleased so far.A very good screen show's exactly what the camera is seeing. The black ear specula cone's I would highly recommend using that will then allow one to get into the ear far enough to see if any wax is clogging an eardrum. I was pleasantly surprised by how clear my ears actually were, which means that my hearing loss really is something wrong beyond my eardrum.A couple of things to note for other users1. The cable storage within the rubber stand - I would highly recommend as I am an engineer, NOT to use that cable storage. The reason is I can see over time that where the cable goes into the metal part of the camera the amount of bending would eventually damage that connection and potentially render a break in the cable.2. Personally I am not using the included USB adaptor as I don't trust what I cannot see under the blue covering. i.e. it may be something to send personal data back to the company. So I have instead used my own microSD card reader.3. For those saying the images are blurred on the screen, I initially had that issue in the beginning until I worked out what was causing it. A quick clean of the lens and 'Bingo!' image was no longer blurry. So use the blue cloth often to keep the tiny camera lens clean. Update on this as I remembered I still had one of the micro swabs clean in the kit and just used that to clean the lens, perfect!! A lovely clear and clean image is now on the screen.4. The included attachments. I initially began using them which was tricky to start with and thought to myself "Why don't I use my own water ear syringe kit to clean out the wax" so I did and wow huge difference. So personally for just £5-£10, I have an ear syringing kit that scoots water into the ear's and gently helps to clear out the ear wax. So, I no longer use the attachments now.5. Be very careful with the microSD card. The spring inside is very strong and at one point I almost lost the card as it pinged somewhere in my bedroom. Oh, and you need to push it in first to unlatch it from the slot. Make sure to note which way around it came out so as you put it back in the right way up.6. It would be helpful to have a mark on the metal casing to show which way is up on the camera. I initially used a sharpie but it quickly rubbed off.Apart from all of those point's I would highly recommend this product over all of the phone-based otoscopes out there. Much safer, no connection required to your Wi-Fi, a screen that is perfectly ample to view the images and video images and you can use your own microSD adaptor to view the images and videos. Well worth the money spent.Photos attached of my ears.NeilBEng(Hons)Royal Navy Submarine Service Veteran21/02/2022Another updateThis company is so missing an opportunity here. 1. The camera cable that we use could easily be made into swappable camera cables that have better resolution for a small additional cost. 2. Some of the accessories seem to be ‘use once only’ things, shame that is as having more available would probably help.

Its a new world in there
Firstly I need to say that the seller, Ihong replaced a faulty screen without quibble. If you have medical issues with your ears your first port of call is a qualified clinician do not go poking around in your ears unless you are aware of the dangers, the main one being deafness. This camera is the narrowest diameter I have tried (3.95mm). It is connected to the screen via a USB C connector. Its cable measures 1.4 metres. The screen is charged using a micro USB socket, cable supplied. No, it will not work while charging. I guess the differing sockets are so you don't attach the camera to the wrong one. The clear image gained is more than adequate to see what you need to inside the ear or whatever you need to use it for.It is stated it is waterproof and I do not see any reason why that is not true although I have not tried it underwater yet.It comes with various tools to be able to remove any obstacles but they are to be used with caution as they fit well but not securely well. I adapted mine so as to remove any worry that they might slip off inside the ear for example.I am not suggesting they do but it would be better if they fitted a little tighter. The main blue scoops come with soft silicone covers that must not be removed. You might think that removing them means you can do the job better, trust me, don't.The inner ear is extremely sensitive as I have learned so please keep the covers on. I found orientation was and still is awkward.Knowing which way is up can get confusing in there but as long as you go very very VERY slowly you'll be ok.At all times be aware of how close you are to the eardrum, that transparent membrane at the end of the canal.Touching it is painful and breaking it may result in loss of hearing permanently. The camera comes with a number of small cones that you fit onto the camera barrel so as to prevent going in too far. These are for inspecting the outer part of the canal looking for signs of infection. However, you cannot use the scoops with one on so please be careful. This equipment is very well made and as far as I can tell will last a very long time.It can be addictive once you get the hang of it but only remove obstacles that interfere with your hearing do not remove all the wax as it protects the ears. The camera barrel does get warm but not hot, so it can be used without discomfort. I spend an average of ten minutes each ear, and the battery drain is only about 5%.You can record your voyage of discovery inside your ear or take a picture. These are stored on the included micro sd card. And can be sent to a professional as part of a remote examination, should that be required. Or kept on record so as to see any progress from an ear infection.Using the screen buttons you can also magnify any aliens you find in there.I have tried a few otoscopes and they have all been too wide for my ear canal these are ideal. Please remember that the inner ears can be easily scratched so clean the camera barrel before use, I use sterile wipes and dry with a tissue.A reliable machine to be used with extreme care.Dec 2022 Update.Still working well but I lost my blue spatulas, Not in my ears. They are impossible to replace so don't lose yours. The screen is still clear, the camera is too. It still holds its charge extremely well, I forget the last time I charged it.

Pleased with product after initial confusion.
After all the initial confusion (See below) I found that the product works very well. I easily took a clear photo of my perforated eardrum and could see the eardrum and bits of wax in my wife's ear. The picture clarity was very good on the small monitor and acceptable on a large PC monitor. Dropped rating from 5* to 4* because of notes below. It came in a high-quality box and unusually did not display the brand name or serial No on the box or the product. The instruction booklet was brief, incomplete, and had very small text. There was no contact email, telephone No. or website. It took "answers" to questions on the Amazon website for me to realise there was a micro Trans Flash card in a thin slot at the top of the screen module. I then worked out that the blue item with the USB connection was not a memory card but an adapter to connect the micro card to a PC.Pressing the button on the bottom of the screen allows you to view the last photo or video taken but I could not view any others without connecting the card to my computer.

WOW!
I suffer from Psoriasis in both ears. I needed something where I could monitor my skin health in my ears; and this absolutely fits the bill perfectly. So easy to set up & to use. Great clarity of images. Easy to clean & exceptionally good value for money. Highly recommended.

Could be on a winner
So far this seems to be what I have been looking for.I have tried a few of the wi-fi type and all have stopped working after a very short time. This one excellent due to having it's own screen and does nor need connecting to ANYTHING, Just press the button and you are ready to go. I have used it about a dozen times now without any problems and it dis very easy to use and the picture is very very good. Looking forward to using this for a long time in the future.
