Stern Saver Glue-On Transducer Mounting System

This stern saver is a great idea. I already had two sets of transducer holes in the boat I purchased, and I needed to make some more. After filling the exisiting holes with Marine Tex, the Stern Saver fit right over the area. The unit was easy to install, and looks like it is attached to the boat for life! One caution: the mounting/alignment spike on the little round centering button is somewhat fragile. I broke it off the the first time I placed the Stern Saver on the hull while trying to align the unit. This made it a little more difficult to immediately get the plate positioned correctly, but was not a huge problem.One tip: since no fiberglass hull is absolutely flat and even, I took some 3M 4200 adhesive and drew a bead around the perimeter of the Stern Saver, to make a nice watertight seal against the hull.

I ordered the stern saver and it arrived very quickly. Reading the instructions was easy and everything needed is included in kit. Installed on my new Boston Whaler Montauk and looks awesome, no holes in hull! A couple days later I installed the transducer with 3/4 self tapping stainless #10 screws and they held tightly! I would definitely recommend this to anyone not wanting to drill holes randomly in their hull for transducers or to cover existing holes. One idea to think about is to " dry fit " your transducer and bracket to the stern saver and up against the transom to make sure you install the stern saver in correct place. After bonding to hull, there is no moving stern saver!!

I got everything ready for the install of the pad and the epoxy is dried up. It got about half way out of the mixing tip and stopped. I can’t see how to contact the company and $50 for another pad is crazy.

The glue works fine. It was easy to install. My lingering question is how to remove the Stern Saver, if I choose to? Will it damage the gel coat worse than drilling into the hull?

Extra long crimps not one cable pulled through hoisting 10 - 15 pound fish over the rail.

Outstanding. Keeps me from running aground. Very easy to install. Great quality.

Tried to use the epoxy to mount the transducer mounting block and it was clogged after only half the vial flowed through the tube. Tried calling 20+ times and the number is always busy. No response from the email noted in the directions. No website located. Who are these people? Their product is being sold by various entities but no website or on-line presence of their own. I find that bizarre.

Great product, a little pricey.Time will tell how well it stays on. Was great that I didn't have to drill holes or put screws in transom.
