best language stories I've tried
It was, BY FAR, the best combination of good story telling and language instruction that I've found. Sure it wasn't Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but the story was good, the Spanish was well written and seemed natural . I hope that there are more as good as this one. Any pointers?

Good content. Small print.
The story is very entertaining but the print is too small and hard to see, especially the vocabulary.

A great read!
I expected a book of short and probably not very interesting stories and was pleasantly surprised to find an entertaining and engaging mystery set in Madrid. The level was just about right for my intermediate Spanish. I especially enjoyed and learned from the conversations the characters had with each other - they were natural extensions of the story and seemed very true to life. I wish Amazon had more books like this for adult Spanish learners. I am reading 100 Years of Solitude in Spanish and find it rough going some of the time but successfully finishing this book with excellent comprehension tells me that Richards advice on how to read in a foreign language is probably right on the money. I really wish there were some classic Spanish novels in simpler language with vocabulary included, just like this entertaining mystery. Highly recommended!

Easy to follow
I purchased this book to better improve my Spanish conversational comprehension. I'm a native English speaker and currently in Chapter 5 in Olly's beginner Spanish course. Although I am not far into Olly's beginner Spanish course, I am able to understand the majority of 101 Conversations in Intermediate Spanish. I would not consider myself at the intermediate level, but the fact that I can understand a large amount of it proves to me that Olly's teaching style is working in his Spanish Uncovered course. The 101 Conversations in Intermediate Spanish material is very interesting and holds my attention while strengthening my ability to understand Spanish. I would definitely recommend any/all of Olly's Spanish courses (and probably other language courses) for anyone who has been interested in learning a new language.

read your way to fluency
If you're not familiar with Olly Richards series, its based on the premise that by consuming large amounts of language, you pick up vocabulary and grammar in a much more natural and easier way than by starting with grammar rules, memorizing and rote exercises. I have to say, for me it works! I think this is probably the fastest way to get to an A2 level in just a few months. These books are conversation based, so the language you pick up is natural and useful. a great series. I don't know if intermediate is the right term, or advanced beginner, but the earlier one I felt is really for the complete beginner or false beginner, and this is getting a little toward lower intermediate (my uneducated assessment)

Great vocabulary enhancing tool!
I’m always looking for materials to take my Spanish to a new level. I’m specifically looking for vocabulary found in sentences which I could include in my Flashcard Deluxe app. I could then use spaced repetition to master the new vocabulary. I found that using Google translate or some other translation engine did not always yield the best results. I’m familiar with Olly Richard’s work because his Conversation series is one of my favorite learning tools. The stories method is one of the most effective ways to build vocabulary in a fun, entertaining way. I also like to use different materials so language learning does not seem like a chore. By the way, I have already studied 42 different languages because of my work as an international lawyer. I often have to go to different countries, and being able to speak several languages has been helpful.

Another great one from Olly!
If you are looking for an easy and at the same time an interesting way to improve your conversational skills in intermediate Spanish this book is a great choice. Conversations are easy to follow, interesting and an excellent addition if you already have his book 101 Conversations in Simple Spanish. I get bored easily while learning a language but that didn't happen with this book. I would also like to have 101 Conversations in Intermediate Russian, I hope Olly will consider writing that one as well!

Good reading resource to help improve With learning Spanish
Very enjoyable story, that is presented in short chapters & written in dialogue fashion in Spanish that is naturally spoken. The short chapters make it easy to read if you only have a little time to spare but equally if you have more time can carry on reading multiple chapters. At the end of each chapter some vocabulary is given for words that may be less well known. The book is a great way to help improve reading skills in Spanish & also understand how native spanish speakers speak. I bought the paperback version & it is small enough & light enough to carry around with you when your on the go.

Effective and Efficient Method for Reviewing and Upgrading
I first attempted to learn Spanish from textbook self-study, the classic Teach Yourself text circa 1960, and a few Cortina-phone audio lessons. I was able to learn to read fairly well but had no success at all in listening comprehension or speaking. More recently, I completed a course through distance education that included video lessons, which helped a bit with listening comprehension but very little with speaking, since they're not in areas of common discourse.Having found Olly's "Short Stories in..." and "101 Conversations in..." series useful in reviewing and extending my French, I am now trying his Spanish versions and enjoying them very much. Using the ebook together with audio works best for me and I'm eagerly awaiting the audio version of these Intermediate Conversations! I hope to be confident enough to try out my Spanish on our next trip to Spain or Mexico.

Exciting story to practise Spanish without realizing you are practising!
Nice story. It's exciting. You want to read further. And because it is written like conversations, it is good to practise Spanish speaking as well. Reading is a fun way to practise, and this book is great for students.
