Sunblocks protect against UVB rays. Sunscreens protect against UVA rays. This product does both, being broad sprectrum, so it is both a sunscreen and a sunblock.Ideally, apply 30 minutes before sun exposure.

How do i know if this is not a knock off ?

I think it’s a knock off. A dermatologist gave me a small sample once, I fell in love with it & decided to spend the money & bought it off amazon. It wasn’t the same, I was so disappointed & thought I was blinded, maybe it was like this in the sample? I went back for a follow up with my dermatologist & asked her to show me the bottle she gave me a sample of & YES it looks EXACTLY the same. There were some differences tho that made me believe it was a knock off. The company was different & the ingredients were different. Obagi matte sunscreen from dermatologist office: - octinoxate 7.5% - zinc oxide 10.5% Company: obagi medical products. A division of Valeant Pharmaceuticals Obagi matte sunscreen from Amazon: - zinc oxide 16.5% -homoslate 10% - octisalate 5% Company: Obagi Cosmeceuticals LLC, Long Beach I don’t know, maybe it was the same company at one point. All I know is that the ingredients are different & it feels completely different. Amazons feels greasy & oily while the dermatologist office is smooth & matte.

what is the expiration date on the matte sun shield being shipped now

I purchased one in April 21 and I’m returning it because it expires in October 21. This stuff is too expensive to get an old product.
