Why did I not buy this sooner????
This book is worth its weight in gold as they say. I am an experienced investor and have been somewhat familiar with O'Neil and his investing style. Buy this book takes it to a new level. It is an excellent addition to my library and my kids will each receive this as a Christmas present this year.Very easy to read. Terminology explained. Numerous examples. I firmly believe this is a must have for any beginning investor. If you are an experienced investor, and have not read this, you are not doing yourself any favors! Read the book!

Great book however not fully or clearly explained at times.
I understand that I am reading the second edition of How to Make Money in Stocks when there are third and fourth editions already out. As a matter of fact at a used book sale a couple of weeks ago, I was looking for investing books, and the table was filled almost with none of them except for this book, How to Make Money in Stocks. It was on a sale for a buck, and it became my first ever book when it comes to learning about the stock market. Before my journey started, I've always wanted to dabble in the market and never did since I either was mystified or didn't think I ideally had enough money to meet the challenge. Last November, I finally did it, took advantage of the bargain priced stocks, and bought some shares of four companies after a good deal of research, however primitive it was. Mainly, my thinking was purely common sense: great products, stability, reputation, plenty of earning growth, and rebounding factor. It worked well for me, and I reaped the rewards. Yet I am still a dunce when it comes to understanding the market, so here lies How to Make Money in Stocks. When I was reading the book, I liked the ease of William J. O'Neil's writing and more especially, his sincere honesty. Although I felt that Part One was a difficult part for me to understand, I liked the second part even more with some reservations about part three because I need to find other books to increase my knowledge of stock market basics. There are times that the author doesn't provide clear and/or full explanations of what he is talking about. Nevertheless, I learned a great deal out of the book because it opened my mind up to what tools I can use and how to implement them. William J. O'Neil is truly correct that I need to read the book again and again to absorb the wisdom that he provides, and he makes the enticing presentation of his newspaper Investor's Business Daily. I really enjoyed his explanation of his newspaper, and his persuasion alone has me thinking of buying it although I am debating myself when to find the right time to purchase a subscription. In Chapter 20 entitled 18 Common Mistakes Most Investors Make, I am quite pleased to learn that I didn't make any of them. Still, I have a long way to go when it comes to learning the ins and outs of the system, and I find his C-A-N S-L-I-M very useful and sensible. I like to be a student of that system. Meanwhile, when I read the book again, I plan to read 3rd and 4th Editions instead. All in all, How to Make Money in Stocks really did it for me, and it is a terrific book.
