The dot is more of a big oval rather than a dot and the adjustable end doesn’t work so I had to put tape over the end to make the dot a dot. Also I don’t know where they get purple from because it’s definitely not purple. I’m disappointed and would have returned them if I hadn’t had a job I had to get finished when my old one went out

The media could not be loaded.  When I try and adjust the lens for a tight red dot beam, it doesn't stay flush to the diode and wiggles. This causes the beam to spread at large distances.

One of the lasers got too hot and the wire de-soldered it self, otherwise, as described

You can't use these for anything where you actually want to be able to aim the red dot at something. The adjustable focus lens has so much play in it that even at only 12 inches away the laser point can bounce around 1 - 2 inches without the body of the laser moving because of the play in the lens.

It says "Red dot diode module" which I felt was a little bit misleading. It is actually an elongated laser that you then focus down to a point by adjusting the lens. It may be that I just don't have a lot of experience and don't understand quite what that meant but I did feel a bit mislead. With that said it is still a very solid and bright beam.

These are comparable with common laser pointers. It puts a bright red spot for at least 20 feet. The lens can be adjusted to focus the light depending on the distance. Nice unit.
