I roast my own coffee beans. Even though I'm vented to the outdoors, they create considerable smoke inside my office where my roaster resides. I had noticed for some time that I was having quite a bit of allergy problems when I roast, both to the raw beans and to the smoke from the roast. I considered giving up that hobby even though I'd rather give up se-- well, lot's of other things, but decided to give this machine a try instead.It does a great job of keeping my environment free of smoke when I place it on setting two. It runs 24/7 silently on setting one the rest of the time. My allergy to coffee smoke and even to the dust from the raw coffee beans is gone. So that's the good news.I only gave this machine 4 stars because, while it happily does what I bought it to do, I think it is considerably more expensive than perhaps it needs to be. Also mine has a defect somewhere in that it refuses to use the batteries. The company was exceptionally helpful in providing an additional battery to see if that would solve the problem, which it didn't, and would have been happy to exchange the whole machine if I asked. In the end however I don't visualize why I would need this to be a portable machine and just run on batteries, so for my use I declined the vendor's offer to replace it and it sits on my counter happily sucking up smoke every time I decide to indulge in my burn coffee bean habit.As a matter of fact, now that I think about it I think I'll go back and change my rating to 5 stars because it does a great job of keeping my office environment livable and the vendor was very willing to replace it if the battery thing had been a big deal to me.It is still kind of expensive though. But then, so is my coffee roaster, espresso equipment, and all the other things I have spent copious amounts of my wife's money on.........

Does not seem to clear the air a well as I feel it should.

It seems to clean the air in the room but the machine needs to be running for 24-7

The only reason I gave this three stars is because the cleaner did make the air in my Office/bedroom fresher. The issue is when running it above the lowest fan setting it sounds like a small vacuum. Running it on low speed was not doing the job. Running it at higher speeds keeps the air fresh, but I could not tolerate the noise. It only lasted one night for me to decide to return it. If you are going to use it in an area that you seldom occupy this seems like a good filter. I saw a warning about the noise in a review but thought a fan noise could not be that loud. This one is.

This is our second unit and we actually read the instructions. It recommends lower 2 speeds for occupied spacesand higher speed for unoccupied which is noisy but does a great job in refreshing the room. Our sleep has been improved and we have a better control of dust and pet hair. We highly recommend this unit because it's high quality at a very affordable price.

This air purifier is awesome. We use the highest level at night and I have not slept better. My wife also has less congestion during her sleep at night.

A reusable washable filter would be great, even if the purchase price has to be higher.

I am now getting my 4th So Clean 3 delivered again. About every couple of months, the new unit stops working and there is no way to fix it. I have pleaded with them to please just give me the older version back because I never had an issue with this older product. They will NOT give you anything else and continue to just send you a new SoClean 3 piece of Junk. If you’ve previously bought a new filter and try to use it on the new unit, it will not work, so your just out those dollars you’ve sent and they are much more expensive than the old version. I’m calling the BBB because this is a Lemon product and they don’t stand behind it, other than the Warranty, and keep sending you another of the same junk that So Clean 3 is in my experience over the past two years. Save you time and money.
