Apocalypse: The Days of Elijah, Book 1

Into the Bible and the Last Days? Fasten your seatbelts, and enjoy...
Who said Christian based literature is boring? This isn't it... Like his earlier series, The Days of Noah, he hits a grand slam homerun... I could not, would not, put "The Days of Elijah, Book One: Apocalypse" down... If you read this novel, and are not touched with the story, pace, dialog, action, and realism, there's something wrong with you...I'll have to wait for the next two novels, just like everyone else. I'll be sixty-seven when the next one comes out. Hope Mr. Goodwin is a F-A-S-Twriter... Though, as Paul said, "to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord..."I heartily endorse, recommend, and urge those who enjoy a great story, without the gratuitous garbage found in most of the world's contemporary novels... Mr. Goodwin is at the peak of the writing game, and his view on PAW (Post Apocalyptic Writing), prepping, and survival, are consonant with the best writer/experts out there...God Bless You and Yours, Mr. Goodwin... Thank-You, Sir...Five out of Five Stars...

Mark Goodwin- Genre Master!!!
Another excellent novel from Goodwin!!! Mark does a great job of creating believable characters that you will identify with and grow to appreciate... Mark tackles different scenarios and looks at both sides of an issue and discusses the thought process of each side... Not only do his books give people practical ideas for preparing for disasters he deals with the mental challenges that a prepared individual might have to process... I appreciate his biblical perspective- it is clear and true to scripture without being "preachy"... I enjoyed ALL of this book- even the disclaimer in the beginning... He quoted someone else as saying something I have said for years (paraphrasing)- "Eschatology is too important to get from fiction books"... Mark's books are a great resource for those that want to be prepared for future tough times... I have read all of Mark's books and have shared them with family & friends alike... They provide excellent reading entertainment and some deep thought provocation... I highly recommend him as an author and an expert...

This needs 10 Stars at least!
I have both the Kindle and the audio versions of The Days of Elijah and will get the paperback for my husband. Mark Goodwin continues the saga of Everett and Courtney and Elijah after the Rapture.I wish I could find a word or words that weren't so worn out as "awesome" and "outstanding", but trying to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious always sends me to Google for help. I absolutely recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good story without the gratuitous bad language and racy scenes to get past. I've followed these stories since the beginning and hope there are many more to come. Listening to Kevin Pierce read is a definite plus. The Days of Elijah, Book One: Apocalypse: A Novel of the Great Tribulation in America (Volume 1)

One of the best yet...
If you like apocalyptic fiction tempered by prophecy found in scripture, you will enjoy and be challenged by The Days of Elijah: Apocalypse.Mr Goodwin is able to continue the story started in The Days of Noah. Melding the lives of those left behind and their struggle against the new world government and the imminent wrath of God.Fair warning: If you are offended by references to scripture and prophecy, you will certainly feel offense. If you enjoy the "real world" graphic depiction of violence, greed, and sexual misconduct sure to accompany the end of our world, I believe you will be left unfulfilled by this book.If you are intrigued by stories of the actions of "real" people in trying circumstance or if you are up to the challenge of imagining what biblical prophecy means at a personal level, you will not be left wanting.

Goodwin Research
Reminds me of the Lahaye / Jenkins, Left Behind, series in the Biblical aspect. As with those authors, Goodwin has done his research. I have read seven of Goodwin' s books including, Days of Noah, Series which should be read prior to the, Elijah, series in order to get to understand what the characters are going through and to see them prior to the present day situation they are facing. We are given a lot to think about in this book in relation to our own mistakes, our commitment to God, and our willingness to suffer rather than give in to evil. Thank you Mr Goodwin, I hope we can continue reading your entertaining and thought provoking (Non P.C.) books for a long time to come.

Meaningful because.......
Ok, I know it's fiction at this point in time. But it is meaningful because it postulates about the nuts and bolts in a practical believable way how the Great Tribulation could very well occur. Reread that sentence. As I look about me, I see many of those possibilities playing out in real life. As a child I recall many believers looking toward the recreation of the nation of Israel as a major event that foretold the beginnings of the end times. Now there is much more in place to carry on that belief. The number one thought-provoking idea is about Globalisation, the EEU, the destruction of the American Dollar mostly by the IMF. We are going to be looking at economic chaos when the price of oil per barrel is in the Yuan instead of the dollar. I'm certain there are many more examples out there too. Good read, scary but good. I know there are many who are lax and even unbelievers when it comes to the Revelation in this instance but also the Bible as a whole. My question to you is this, "You've got nothing to lose by believing, and everything to gain."

Thought provoking
I bought this because I'd read 'The Days of Noah" and wanted to read the follow on series. The previous series and this series are evocative to the extent you are left with an umeasy feeling that maybe theres a grain of truth in here. Off to buy the next one in the series
