I have limited dexterity in both hands. I found the Victorinox Pocket Sharpener easier to use than any other sharpener for sak knives, and other similar knives with a flat ground blade. The 'V' ceramic part of the sharpener worked the best in removing all the burrs. Secondly, the long portion of the grit was used. I experimented with doing the opposite on the first knife, but had far better results reversing the assumed directions. My Tinker is sharp enough, though I intend to see what (leather) stropping each knife does. A handy-sized sharpener that works well and quickly. These pocket sharpeners last, reviews state. By snapping the handle in the two intended positions, I found this Sharpener to be the best for pocket knives, cooking knives, and other applications that do not require sharpening at a recommended angle. (i.e., 25, 30, or 35 degree angle). The grip is excellent.

The sharpening process works great, but it took me 10 minutes of internet research just to determine how to use this properly! Because it's not even remotely obvious if you're supposed to sharpen with the V notch (like cheap chef's knife sharpening kits) and then hone with the rod (again like for chef's knives), or sharpen with the rod (like a whetstone) and then hone with the V notch. You'd think this would come with clear instructions, but there's no actual directions, just the back of the package that mysteriously shows 1) a *kitchen knife* being gone over with the V notch, 2) a 20° blade angle (unclear what type of knife), and 3) a *swiss army knife* being gone over with the rod (and in an unsafe direction at that -- *towards* the body!). But these aren't numbered, so it's unclear if they represent the order (start with V notch, then rod) or if the V notch is meant for kitchen knives, and the rod is all you need for swiss army knives...? What the *heck*, Victorinox? How could you produce something so confusing? Well after watching several YouTube videos, including the official Victornix one on this product, it turns out the correct answer is 1) sharpen (it's not honing) the knife with the rod at the 20° angle, and in a safe direction (*away* from the body) and then 2) hone (it's not sharpening) the edge using the V notch. Great. I can do that. That's fine. But so why does Victorinox put the instructions in a *backwards order* on the packaging, use a *kitchen* knife in one of the illustrations (?!), and to top it all off, show the user sharpening the knife *towards* the body (unsafely)?? Victornix is generally a quality company, so it's truly bizarre to see them so completely and totally mess up what should be exceptionally simple instructions. So 5 stars, but minus 1 for the "instructions". What the heck, Victorinox.

Very easy to use. It has a simple V-shaped sharpener as well as a fine-grit, ceramic rod, it makes an excellent gift for individuals who carry pocket knives and is very affordable. It is durable enough to carry every day, and you could use it to sharpen all lengths of blades, making it a very versatile sharpener.

We bought Victorinox tomato knives when we visited Switzerland (and have since bought more for gifts on Amazon). They're extremely sharp, but unfortunately they're hard to sharpen. I looked on YouTube to see how to sharpen them, and the person was using a sharpener like this. I've had occasion to use it several times, and it works perfectly. It may be "pocket", but it's in the drawer with my other sharpening stones. Pretty much irreplaceable.

Ha ha! After getting many other mini sharpener I find out Victorinox makes one. So of course my SAK needed one. And it's a good one! Slim so it fits in ur pocket easily. Blades perform well, stay covered (huge plus) and it's lightweight. It's made so u don't need a surface like a pull through pocket sharpener. Use it like a file. Completes a nice little swiss army knife edc- knife, fire ant (mini ferro rod), helix tinder and sharpener. So i had this a few months. I like to test things not just un box. The price has doubled on here ( Amazon) since I bought mine. Bad bad.

Muito bom para afiar canivetes, não só de marca da victorinox, cuidado só para não deixar cair no chão, o meu anterior partiu a pedra ao meio. INDICO, é muito útil para quem usa canivete.

La verdad que la calidad Victorinox se nota en todas sus herramientas. No confiaba mucho en este pequeño y fino afilador, pero lejos de la realidad es el mejor que he tenido nunca con diferencia. Es muy fácil sacar filo con esta herramienta, la calidad de la piedra hace que con unas cuantas pasadas dejas las navajas como nuevas, y luego con la otra parte limpias el filo para rematarlo. Al ser pequeño para un cuchillo grande quizás se quede corto. Pero para navajas de bolsillo es el complemento perfecto
