Have a large garden with large shrubs and trees these loppers did a great job. Easy to use but are slightly heavier than bulldog. Being a professional horticulturalist I would say they are great for amateur gardener. the locking mechanism works really well and the blade cuts cleanly. Much better than bulldog B&Q spear &Jackson all of which I have bought and have broken or blunted extremely quickly.

Needed for woody hedge bits of which are too thick for the battery hedge cutter. These worked fairly well though don't think that you won't need to put quite a bit of oomph into the cut, particularly when using them with the handles (and arms!) extended. When fully extended you can feel the handles start to give slightly when force is applied. I am a women in her 60s and while I'm no physically feeble skinny minnie I certainly would not be putting the sort of force through the handles as a younger fit person. So if I'm able to make them 'give' slightly perhaps a stronger person could actually cause them to buckle. Having cautioned this I can say it did the job I needed them to do.

I am going to use them to help reduce the width of my hedge will let you know later on.
