great value, perhaps not for total beginners.
Ok, I've been playing ukes for a few years now, and have played a lot of instruments over the last 50 years or so. My first uke was a tenor at the budget end of the market, and I still play that one almost every day. This 8 string model is really a pretty nice bit of kit for anyone, except for beginners who might struggle with tuning issues. So, spend ten quid on a tuner and you can get 6 of the strings well on the way to sounding good. Like most stringed instruments, it goes out of tune very very quickly when new, but after a few days things will improve, and after a few more days you will enjoy a uke that you can pick up and play with some confidence. Now, remember I said 6 strings? the other 2 need to be tuned an octave lower that their partners. A basic tuner might not show the octave, but you will hear the obvious difference. Got a keyboard in the house? that will show you just where the notes are that you are seeking. Very first uke? Well, OK,but note the way the strings are tuned; Ukes use re-entrant tuning. (Look it up, I'm running out of space here.)Back to this particular uke, I think it represents really good value. It looks nice, feels nice, and sounds nice.If you still think that ÂŁ70 is too expensive then buy something else, your choice. I forgot the bag! I love the rucksack-style straps. Enjoy.

Revised Review. - A Warning.
The original review shown below was written after a few weeks using the Ukulele and it continued to impress until the bridge tore off the body rendering the instrument useless and un-repairable. Examining the bridge showed it had only been attached to the body over the middle 40/50% of its area and the body material was not strong enough to take the strain of eight tuned strings. This was my second experience of Kmise instruments' and will certainly be my last and I advise any future purchasers to be wary.On the positive side Amazon have been very good and accepted the return of the broken Ukulele without quible and gave me a full refund. Thank you.ORIGINAL REVIEWAfter returning a Kmise Banjolele because of my view of the build quality I purchased this 'cheap' 8 string Ukulele to try the 8 string format before possibly committing to a more expensive instrument. Amazon's generous returns policy meant I could reject it if the build quality was bad. However, on unpacking it I found a much better built and finished Uke that I expected. The only negative was that a few of the fret ends needed a brief dressing with a nail file to remove a few burrs. The machine heads work well with no hint of slippage. The initial tuning was not easy as the strings had just been fitted and not tuned by Kmise. This meant that there was a lot of work to do to get the strings even close to being tuned and that every string had to fully stretch before any tuning stability was available.Having got it tuned I have been very pleased with the sound, both tone and level. Over the few weeks I have had it I have kept it tuned and the strings have all settled down and are holding tune for a few days and I play it regularly. I think I have average size fingers and have had no trouble fretting the pairs of strings. In conclusion I can only say that this particular Ukulele is of much higher quality than the Banjolele from Kmise and if they are all of this standard I would recommend it to anyone wanting to experiment, like I was, with 8 strings.

I'm not so sure about this!!
I reserve the right to edit this review when I have owned the Ukulele for a while. I have a 5 string Kmise Tenor, it is excellent in every way, and I bought the 8 string based on that experience. Build quality is up to the manufacturer's usual high standard, very good for what is a very reasonably priced instrument. It comes with a strap, picks, a spare set of strings, and a nice soft case.I have only had it three days, so it is still settling in, needing a retune every time I pick it up, but, at the moment, that is to be expected. I am a little disappointed in how it plays and sounds, but I noticed the action is quite high, so I will attend to that when I have time. These are just first impressions, and I will comment further in due course.

8 string uke
Wonderful value. Great tone. It takes time for the tuning to settle as strings pass through the front face and are knotted inside the body. I suspect this is necessary because of the doubling of the load on the string anchor. Arrived the following day to order. I am very pleased with this instrument.

Great 8 string ukelele
I love this tenor uke with 8 strings, it can't get on with the G3,G4, C3, C4 tuning a lot of people recommend- but that's my choice. This ukelele compliments well my baritone ukelele and I highly recommend players buy one of those too for a bassier ukelele. I rarely play normal guitar now as both ukeleles are easier to play and learn. My only slight misgiving about this 8 string ukelele is the way it's strung from the inside and the heads are sealed units - which looks like if I need to restring this it's going to be difficult to do. (Was this done so buyers would buy a new uke when the strings break?)

Budget 8 string tenor ukulele
As usual with new strings they need stretching in so donât expect perfect pitch till they are. I have played guitar 6&12 strings banjo for many years and arthritis has forced me away from them to the shorter neck and although this is a budget instrument the action and intonation is good and too be honest I canât fault it. Goes well with my 4 string tenor. Love it

KMISE TENOR 8 string ukulele: My new favorite đ
A beautiful instrument to look at and admire, hold, play and LOVE! Such a bang for my bucks. The quality in tone and playability exceeds more expensive ukuleles. I havenât been this pleasantly surprised by ANY purchase in YEARS! Comes well packaged, in a very handsome, durable nicely padded bag, extra strings and picks. The eight strings add such depth and dimension to your songs. Folks will wonder how you make a uke sound this full and rich. Looks like Kmise takes great pride in their product. The wood is gorgeous to look at and the resonance is heavenly. The only thing that doesnât came with the uke is the talent to play it: But, regardless of individual talent, this uke will love you back and make you look and sound good!

Bisher total gut

Great quality and sound for the price. Right out of the box, no need for set up, just tune it and play. Action is good, no string buzz, good strings. This is my 2nd Kmise product, and I'm very satisfied, Thanks

Nice instrument
This 8-string Kmise tenor ukulele is a fun change. I wanted to try something different but didn't want to pay very much. This was very low cost at $69.00. It is made very well, the finish is nice. But you can imagine that it takes 8 times as long for these strings to stretch, settle, and hold their tune! There is a lot of tension on this instrument. I'm still kind of playing around with truss rod adjustments, just to see what difference it makes to playability, if any. I've had it for a couple months now and work with it off and on. It has finally reached the point where it is in tune when I do pick it up. The technique to play this ukulele is, to me, a lot different than any other ukulele I own. Obviously 8 strings makes a big difference. Fingerpicking and strumming techniques need some getting used to, but one nice thing is the neck width is not much different than a regular size tenor. I have a guitarlele and the neck is so wide, I can barely stand to play it very long. But this 8-string uke is a comfortable width. Yet learning to hold these double strings down is hard on certain chords. I just need more practice. But overall, I am happy with this ukulele and I am having fun experimenting with it. Yet, at this point, I am very glad I didn't invest a lot of money, until I found out if this type of uke is worth it to me. The package included a tuner, a nice strap, a well-padded gig bag, and allen wrench and extra strings. I am not a beginning ukulele player. I have played for many years and like to try something different once in a while. The bottom line is, it's a well made, inexpensive instrument to add to your collection and your musical experimenting. Have fun!

Bridge design is difficult to deal with, The rest is very good.
As stated by other reviewers, having the pairs of strings tied together inside the body of the uke is difficult to deal with. I have been playing the Ukulele every day for a week and the tuning is continuing to get more and more stable as the strings stretch out. The truss rod makes the ukulele neck heavy - making for serious neck dive, so I have tied the strap to the headpiece instead of using the strap button next to the body. I have adjusted the truss rod to adjust the relief and it worked great. The finish is even and a nice color. No rough spots at all, and the back of the neck is smooth. The frets are finished adequately, and the ends are a tiny bit sharp. A couple of seconds work will solve that without much effort. The fingerboard is flawless and looks great. The included gig bad is padded nicely, has a usable pocket on the front. Picks are basic plastic, but good enough and it does come with a set of replacement strings. All seem of good quality. The ukulele sounds great! For this price point it is impressive. The reason for the 4 stars, rather than 5, is partly due to the neck dive (cost of a truss rod, I guess) but mostly because of the weird way you must tie the strings TOGETHER and inside the body. This is an excellent entry level 8 string and you cannot beat the price, especially considering the included gig bag.
